Ads Insights API Metric Availability Updates

By Chris Cutlip

We continuously review the metrics we offer advertisers to ensure that they are accurate, intuitive, and valuable. To continue meeting our high standards, we will limit availability for certain metrics’ available attribution windows and breakdowns in the Ads Insights API beginning on January 12, 2026. Below, please find details relevant to the developer community, including notification about breaking changes that may be relevant to your application(s)’ integration with our platform.

For a complete list of all changes and their details, please visit our changelog.

Deprecation and Changes

Attribution Window Availability

On January 12, 2026, we will deprecate certain attribution windows available today with the Ads Insights API’s action_attribution_windows parameter:

  1. 7-day view (7d_view) and 28-day view (28d_view) attribution windows will no longer be returned

Consistent with Ads Manager behavior, attribution windows like 1-day click, 7-day click, 28-day click, 1-day engaged view, and 1-day view will continue to be available (in addition to default values based on advertisers’ attribution settings) for API fields like actions, conversions, and results.

Breakdown Availability

On January 12, 2026, we will begin restricting certain breakdowns available today with the Ads Insights API’s breakdowns parameter:

  1. All breakdowns for unique-count fields (like unique_actions and cost_per_unique_action_type) will be limited to 13-month’s of historical data.
  2. Hourly breakdowns (i.e., hourly_stats_aggregated_by_advertiser_time_zone, user_time_zone) will be limited to 13-month’s of historical data.
  3. Frequency breakdowns (i.e., frequency_value) will be limited to 6-months of historical data
  4. MMM breakdowns (i.e., mmm) will be limited to asynchronous jobs.

Consistent with Ads Manager behavior, total values for API fields are unaffected by the above changes and will continue to be available for up to 37 months.
