Apple fans are snapping up a huge iPhone 16 deal before huge launch

The iPhone 17 is just a day away from being announced for Apple fans, but for those not interested in the latest devices, giffgaff might have a deal that's great for bargain hunters waiting to upgrade.

Giffgaff is selling refurbished iPhone 16s starting from £449, depending on the wear and tear of the device. Prices will rise depending on the condition of the phone, going all the way to £569 for like-new devices. 

The range includes a variety of colours, including white, black, ultramarine, and more. They also come with a 12-month warranty, so despite being refurbished, shoppers can still get peace of mind when buying.

In addition, giffgaff assures that each device has undergone a rigorous 30-point health check and guarantees at least 80% battery health on the iPhones it sells. It's also unlocked to any network, so shoppers can add their own SIM plan if they wish. Shoppers can also add a data plan to the device for an additional monthly cost. 

There's also plenty of other alternatives for refurbished devices on the market. BackMarket is selling the Galaxy S22 for £193 for Samsung fans who want a smartphone bargain. 

There's also the iPhone 15 Plus for £465 for those who want a slightly bigger phone and don't mind getting an older device. 

Our tech editor, David Snelling, also reviewed the iPhone 16 and thought the device was almost perfect. In the review, he added: "The iPhone 16 is no no-brainer for anyone looking to upgrade especially as it's one of the only devices that will get Apple Intelligence later this year.

"It features that bold new look, gets the Action and Camera Control buttons, plus there's that stupendously fast A18 processor and upgraded rear cameras. The tougher design should also help keep it looking box-fresh for longer, and it comes with Wi-Fi 7, eSIM technology for faster set-up (most UK networks now offer this service) and the latest iOS 18 operating system."

He did have some problems however - especially around the refresh rate of the screen. He said: "We remain pretty miffed about that 60Hz screen technology, but that really is our only gripe this year."
