Apple fans rush for new iPhone Air as Sky launches 'lowest ever' price
Apple fans can get the iPhone Air from Sky for a cheaper price thanks to cost-splitting plans
After much anticipation and speculation, Apple's iPhone Air was finally revealed at the company's 'Awe Dropping' event last week. At just 5.6mm thick, it is officially Apple's slimmest smartphone to date, even surpassing Samsung's 5.8mm Galaxy S25 Edge, and was undoubtedly the highlight of the firm's latest keynote.
Not only is the Air incredibly slim, but it's also robust, thanks to its titanium shell and Ceramic Shield Glass 2 covering. Other features include a large 6.5-inch display, a speedy A19 Pro processor, and a 48MP Fusion camera.
The Air is certainly a smart phone, but it comes with a hefty price tag of £999, which is £200 more than the standard iPhone 17. Fortunately, there are already some contract deals available that make owning the Air feel a bit more affordable.

Sky is one mobile network offering the iPhone Air, and the company is already promising the 'lowest ever' price on contract deals, reports the Express. This means Apple fans can get the Air and completely unlimited data for £52 per month.
Here's a rundown of the iPhone 17 Air deal on Sky:
- DATA: Unlimited
- UPFRONT FEE: £0
- CONTRACT: 48 months
- PRICE: £52
- TOTAL PRICE: £1,872 (not including yearly hikes)

The iPhone Air is available for £32 a month without data from Sky. Adding unlimited data to that knocks the price to £52 a month.
For a quick comparison, the iPhone Air can be purchased for £999 on Amazon, and an unlimited eSIM can be added to the device. SMARTY offers Unlimited data for £20 per month.
Combining the price of the device with this plan would total £1,719 over three years. Naturally, other networks are also offering the Air. Like EE, their prices start from £54.26 a month.
Vodafone's deals start from £48.98 plus there are other networks offering the Air including O2 and Three. It's worth noting that Apple also unveiled its new iPhone 17 at the event, the starting model in the range.
One down from the iPhone 17 Air, which replaced the traditional 'plus' model, the model has a superior screen, a more powerful processor and enhanced cameras. Prices start from £799 for the iPhone 17. The Daily Express reviewed the iPhone Air - and they were massively impressed with how stunning the device is in terms of size and power.
Tech editor David Snelling said: "There's plenty to like about the Air, and it's definitely one of the most exciting updates from the design team in Cupertino in a while. Making it even more appealing are accessories such as the smart Crossbody Strap that pairs with an Apple case so you can comfortably wear your iPhone hands‑free.
"The Air is a surprisingly good device that will turn heads when pulled from your pocket. Its size is mind-blowing and it still gets a great screen, super-speedy processor and tough design."
However, there were compromises to consider. He added: "However, there are compromises, and it can't match its siblings in terms of camera or overall battery life, all at a cost of £999.
"Time will tell if people want a skinny phone, but one thing is for sure: Expect plenty of queues to see it when it arrives in stores this Friday."
