Hollyoaks star Jeremy Sheffield's forgotten Coronation Street role revealed
Hollyoaks' Jez Blake star played a pivotal role in one icon's exit from Weatherfield 13 years ago
Hollyoaks star Jeremy Sheffield once starred in Coronation Street before landing his iconic roles on the Channel 4 soap.
The 59-year-old star is known for playing Chester villain Patrick Blake from 2012 to 2016, and recently reappeared on the long-running soap as the character’s twin brother Jez.
Jeremy first departed from Hollyoaks in 2016, when his character was shockingly killed by murderous granddaughter Nico Blake (Persephone Swales-Dawson). After an eight year absence, Jeremy returned to the fictional Chester village as Jez Blake, and has been on a murdering spree ever since.
Speaking about his character in 2024, actor Jeremy teased a disturbing backstory between Jez and his deceased twin. He told Inside Soap magazine: "A huge event blew the brothers apart and Jez disappeared — whatever went on was so traumatic he just had to escape. I imagine Jez was Patrick's first victim."

In December 2011, Jeremy arrived on the Cobbles as Danny Stratton, who was a new interest for unlucky in love Becky McDonald (Katherine Kelly).
Danny, a hotel manager, first crossed paths with Becky at an ideal time as she was trying to move on from her failed marriage to Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), who had quickly found a new romance in Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford).
Becky and Danny started dating, but she was soon left seething after discovering a woman and a young boy at Danny's house and assumed he was a married man. But Danny quickly put the record straight and explained the people in question was his sister, and his own son Billy.
When Tracy blamed her love rival for causing her a miscarriage, the residents of Weatherfield soon turned their backs on Becky. Luckily, kind-hearted Danny stepped in and proved Becky's innocence, along with exposing Tracy as a liar.
As romance appeared to be going in the right direction for new couple Danny and Becky, the pair were left distraught when his hotel firm relocated him to Barbados, putting their relationship on the rocks.
However, in a romantic twist, Becky decide to join Danny and Billy in their new life abroad and they all waved a permanent goodbye to Weatherfield in January 2012.
Aside from Hollyoaks and Corrie, soap star Jeremy has appeared in a number of other TV shows and films, including Murder in Suburbia, Hotel Babylon, Creep and The Wedding Date.
He also played Alex Adams in Holby City between 2000 and 2003. In 2010, he competed in the ITV series Dancing On Ice.
According to IMDB, Jeremy's first acting credit was as a dancer in Queen's famous music video for smash hit 'I Want To Break Free'. He also portrayed the man in Natalie Imbruglia's music video Torn.
