Ariana Grande teases return to music with tribute to London set to feature on new album
Ariana Grande has announced the release of six new songs, with one seemingly named after a popular area in London where the US pop singer has previously said she lived
Ariana Grande has hinted at dropping six new tracks, including one that seems to pay homage to a London neighbourhood. The 31 year old American pop sensation and Wicked star took to Instagram to unveil a deluxe version of her album, Eternal Sunshine, with the final track titled Hampstead.
Grande also shared a video revealing the titles of the six new songs: Intro (End Of The World) Extended, Twilight Zone, Warm, Dandelion, Past Life, and Hampstead – possibly referencing her time spent in the picturesque north London area.
The Instagram story was followed by a video of someone excitedly spinning around their kitchen, accompanied by a countdown clock titled "Eternal Sunshine Deluxe", suggesting the release date is less than 11 days away. Earlier this year, Grande mentioned that she had been living in Hampstead while filming the musical Wicked at Sky Studios Elstree in Hertfordshire, alongside fellow Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo. She expressed her fondness for the area, saying: "I miss it here so much. I loved it here so much. I loved living here. I was in Hampstead when I was here and I loved my walks in the heath."
Grande also shared her appreciation for the local culture, stating: "I loved meandering around and visiting different shops and places and pubs."
She even discovered the joy of a traditional Sunday roast, exclaiming: "I didn't know what a Sunday roast was, but I know that's a thing now. I didn't know what that was and now I do and I'm changed for the better. It's so delightful and fun there are so many dogs and (the dog breed) Vizslas in (Hampstead) Heath" and "I loved seeing them."
The double Grammy award-winning sensation, famed for smash hits like 7 Rings, Rain On Me, and No Tears Left To Cry, is also making waves in the film industry with her recent Oscar nod for best supporting actress as the charming good witch Glinda in the Wicked movie adaptation.
Ariana is set to enchant audiences once more in the upcoming sequel 'Wicked: For Good', slated for release later this year, wrapping up the story of Elphaba (played by Erivo), the emerald-skinned enchantress. Just a few days ago, ahead of dropping a new track teaser, Grande lit up her Instagram feed with a clip captioned "brighter days ahead, the short film also coming 3.28".
With seven chart-topping singles and five number one albums under her belt in the UK, including fan favourites Dangerous Woman, Sweetener, and Thank U, Next, the star's credentials are impeccable.
Grande first grabbed the spotlight on Nickelodeon, captivating viewers as an aspiring artist in the hit sitcom Victorious, which centred around teenagers at a performing arts high school. Following her TV success, she launched her singing career with the debut album Yours Truly, catapulting her into the music stratosphere.
