BLACKPINK becomes the first K-pop girl group to perform at London's largest arena
K-Pop girl group sensation BLACKPINK has made history after announcing that they will be playing London's Wembley Stadium this summer as part of their new world tour
K-pop fans will be excited to discover that BLACKPINK are set to perform at London's Wembley Stadium this summer – making them the first-ever K-pop girl group to take the stage of the iconic venue that holds 90,000 people.
It also makes them the first K-pop group to perform in the stadium since BTS in 2019, who famously sold out the stadium in just 90 minutes. BLACKPINK’s concert is set to be held on August 15 and tickets will go on sale at 3 pm February 27 via Live Nation.
According to the official blog of their managing label, YG, the tour will kick off in Korea with two shows at Goyang Stadium, northwest of Seoul, on July 5 and 6. The group will then travel to North America, where they will play single nights at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, Soldier Field in Chicago, Rogers Centre in Toronto and Citi Field in New York. The tour will continue in Paris, Milan, Barcelona and London before finishing at the Tokyo Dome in January 2026.
"We are preparing for a tour of an all-time scale and the best performance, comparable to the 'Born Pink' tour, which attracted 1.8 million spectators and wrote a new history in K-pop," YG said in a press release. The label was referring to the girl group’s previous world tour, which spanned 34 cities, and which was the largest world tour ever performed by a K-Pop girl group.
Fans on X were quick to express their excitement at the announcement. “this 2025 wembley lineup is genuinely INSANE what the f**k,” one wrote. “Let's gooo BLACKPINK!” another excited fan added.
A third put: "BLACKPINK tour starting in july which means we’re getting the comeback likely in april and album in june. 3 years later and the girls are finally returning!"
The announcement comes in the midst of the girls working on their solo careers. Notably, Lisa recently announced the launch of her new album Alter Ego which is due to be released on February 28. Meanwhile another artist, Jennie will release her first full-length album, "Ruby," on March 7.
Not all of the reception was positive, however. Some fans on the subreddit r/BlackPink expressed concern over the girls’ workload. They also accused the label YG of trying to squeeze money out of their supporters.
“Too much too soon. The girls are hardworking, but there’s no break. I’d be shocked if they don’t add more stops, too,” one commenter wrote. “YG must be desperate. They’re putting their artists through the wringer this year. I’m legitimately worried about the health of 2NE1, Blackpink, and Babymonster (plus, isn’t Treasure touring, too?). Prices for tickets might be worse than SM Town prices.”
Others felt like the announcement sounded rushed: “Already??? I fear this is going to be half-assed with a basic stage like the last one (and sadly like 2NE1’s current one) with just platforms and an LED backdrop. Hope YG proves me wrong this time though and that they’ve been working on this for a long time”.
Over on X, some fans expressed concern over the release of tour dates, despite there being no album released yet. One wrote: "announcing tour dates before the album is crazy btw."
