Charli XCX shares rare insight to marriage as she and George Daniel tie the knot again

Apple singer Charli XCX and The 1975 star George Daniel have said 'I do' for the second time after swapping vows in front of friend, family, and the Sicilian sunshine

Charli XCX and husband George Daniel have been married for a second time - less than two months after they first swapped vows. The Brat summer mastermind and The 1975 drummer were first married in London on 19 July.

And following their initial ceremony at Hackney Town Hall, the pair have laid on a more lavish celebration in Italy. Charli - whose real name is Charlotte Aitchison, 33 - and George, 35, had a second ceremony on the island of Sicily.

Photos have emerged of the couple looking loved up and happy - with the bride wowing in a sheer white, strappy, sleeveless dress, and George looking dapper in a sand coloured suit. Friends, family and A-List stars were reportedly in attendance to see the couple pronounced husband and wife a second time.

The second set of vows - which The Sun has shared photos of - came after Charli joked she would have walked out on her now husband if he hadn't cried at their first ceremony. Following the original big day, she took to TikTok to share a video clip of herself dressed in her white gown walking into a room and then turning around to walk away.

She playfully captioned the short clip: “When george isn’t crying when he sees me walking down the aisle.” And she added: “Luckily he did,” confirming she had been married at that time.

After swapping vows the first time, Charli gave a rare insight into her new life as she sat down for an interview with Australia's Russh magazine.

When the questions inevitably turned to how the singer would spend her latest 'Brat' Summer, she said: "I mean, it can always be brat summer if you want it to be.

"For me I’m sort of just chilling. I just got married so I’m kind of exploring that, how it makes me feel and just hanging out with George."

Giving insight into their low key family life away from the spotlight, she revealed: "I’m watching a lot of movies and thinking about movies and films I’m making and want to make. That’s what I’m inspired by right now."

Reports have suggested that Charli and George opted to marry the second time in Sicily because they have a shared love for the island.

A source told The Sun: “Charli and George fell in love with Sicily and knew they wanted to get married there. It’s incredibly secluded and romantic. There will be no expense spared. It’s costing tens of thousands of pounds and visually it will be mesmerising.

“Charli and George said they wanted a massive party and there are no restrictions on when the bar has to close, so it can go on all night.

“They have both had such a busy summer with massive shows, but from mid-August they’re able to slow down and focus on their big day.

“It’s going to be pretty star-studded too, with plenty of their celeb mates making the journey over to Sicily to watch them say ‘I do’. Charli and George are so excited to become man and wife.”
