EastEnders' Lorraine Stanley stuns in black dress as she shows off five-stone weight loss

Soap star Lorraine Stanley wowed her Instagram followers on Sunday as she celebrated her sister's 50th birthday in a black party dress, flaunting an impressive weight loss.

Lorraine Stanley dressed to the nines over the weekend, showing off her five-stone weight loss in a stunning black dress.

EastEnders fans were disappointed to see the actress, 47, leave her role in the BBC One soap after seven years as Karen Taylor. The beloved character was involved in her son Keanu Taylor's plot to kidnap Albie Watts and was urged out of Walford by a furious Phil Mitchell last year.

While she made a brief return to Walford following Keanu's murder, Lorraine has not been seen in the London-based drama for several months - but she keeps her fans up to date on Instagram.

Taking to the social media platform on Sunday, May 19, the soap star revealed she celebrated her sister's (also named Karen) 50th birthday in style with a string of snaps from her weekend. Lorraine wowed her 177k followers as she cut an elegant figure in a black mini party dress with ruffles, finishing off the look with a pair of bright orange strappy heels. She also literally let her hair down for the party as she showed herself off on a night out with pals.

Fans were over the moon in the comment section as numerous followers showered Lorraine with compliments, one of them penning: "Look at you, stunning!" Another added: "You beauties. Happy birthday to Karen." A third one chimed in: "You look phenomenal."

Lorraine has focused on a huge physical transformation since she left EastEnders. In March, as she shared new snaps, the actress opened up about her weight loss journey, saying she had shed five stone in only a year. "What a difference a year makes. Five stone down, feeling good, clean living, healthy choices, new me, healthy mummy," she wrote at the time.

But it seems Lorraine's fans will also get to see her back in action as she recently teased her new role. Earlier in May, 2024, Lorraine revealed she'll star as Queen Rat in 2024's Dick Whittington panto, with performances taking place at the Kings Theatre in Portsmouth at the end of the year.

"I can't wait for this!!!! Panto in my home town with me old mate Jack Edwards is going to be epic!!!" Lorraine wrote on social media. "Ratty is coming to play Kings Theatre get your tickets early and I'll see you after the show."

Lorraine has another big project lined-up as she has also started shooting for the film Departures, directed by Neil Ely and Lloyd Eyre-Morgan, in which she will portray a character named Janet, the mother of lead Benji, who returns to Amsterdam after having an affair with a married man located there the year before.

However, EastEnders fans may not have seen the last of Karen as Keanu's funeral has yet to take place. "You'll have to wait and see. I can't say too much, you know I can't," Lorraine told The Sun when asked about a potential return to the Square. "You know there [will be] a funeral of some sort, I would imagine. I'm not allowed to say anything!" Could there be a surprise comeback in the works?
