EastEnders' Shane Richie poses with rarely seen daughter for 13th birthday celebration
Doting dad Shane Richie took to Instagram this Monday, paying a heartfelt tribute to his daughter Romanie-Skye with a trip to Thorpe Park for her 13th birthday
Alfie Moon may be somewhat absent from his children's lives in EastEnders but actor Shane Richie proved his off-screen life is very different with a heart-warming gesture for his daughter.
The soap actor, 60, took to his Instagram story on Monday, April 29, as he shared a snap of his trip to Surrey's Thorpe Park, appearing in good spirits with a protective arm wrapped around his daughter, Romanie-Skye, and his wife, Christie, as the trio poses by the theme park entrance.
Romanie-Skye and her parents looked relaxed and casual with Shane sporting a navy blue jacket with a black top, along with a pair of cargo trousers and grey trainers. Christie looked stylish with striped wide-leg trousers, a white jumper and a golden puffer jacket.
Shane captioned his photo recalling his tumultuous experience in the theme park which is reputable for its intense rides and rollercoasters: "13th birthday celebrations were in full swing (literally) at Thorpe Park. If anyone finds my stomach near the Swarm, please let me know!" But despite struggling to cope in the rides, the TV star insisted: "We bleeding loved it and can't wait to go back."
On Saturday, April 27, just as Romanie-Sky was blowing out her candles, Shane posted a heart-warming message for his teen daughter along with a photo montage including shots of the young girl throughout the years. "In a blink of an eye, our baby girl is officially a teenager," he wrote in his caption.
"Happy 13th birthday to our Romanie-Skye. Roro, our little love, you are not only brilliant and beautiful, funny and clever but most importantly you are huge hearted, kind souled, and emotionally mature way beyond your years. Your smile brightens up our world and we couldn’t love you more." The loving post received a multitude of reactions from his 265k followers as many of them joined in him in wishing Romanie-Skye a happy birthday.
One commented: "Looks so much like Shane. Happy birthday Romanie Skye Beautiful name." Another penned: "Happy 13th birthday to your lovely daughter Romanie Skye. Hope she has the best day ever." Shane shares three rarely-seen children with his wife Christie Goddard, Mackenzie Blue, who celebrated his 18th birthday on April 24, Lolita Belle, 15, and Romanie-Skye and frequently shares posts about them on special occasions.
But he is also the father of two adult sons from his 1990 marriage with Loose Women panellist Coleen Nolan, Shane Roche Jr, born in 1988, and Jake Roche, born in 1992. In late 2023, his eldest son made headlines after splitting from his Miss Great Britain wife, Maddie Wahdan.
The pair tied the knot in 2022 but their relationship reportedly came to an end when Shane Jr. allegedly admitted to seeing another woman. This was enough for the beauty pageant star to call it quits. "It’s sad the relationship has come to an abrupt end so soon after they tied the knot. Shane admitted he’d cheated. Maddie can’t see any way back from the betrayal, so ended their marriage", one source told The Sun at the time.
