EXCLUSIVE: Ed Sheeran makes pal Example wear Sons of Anarchy biker jacket when in his pub

Rapper Example says Ed Sheeran invites his mates round to his Suffolk mansion and puts on bike gang leathers because he's such a big fan of TV's Sons of Anarchy

Pop star Ed Sheeran is such a fan of gang TV drama Sons of Anarchy that he gets his mates to wear the show’s biker jackets when they drink in his pub.

The A Team singer got hold of the bike leathers from the creator of the US series, Kurt Sutter.

Ed’s boozer – named The Lancaster Lock – is in the grounds of his Suffolk estate.

Rapper Example, who is a pal of the singer, told a podcast: “He’s got 20 Sons of Anarchy jackets. Everyone puts one on, like a clubhouse jacket, before you go in the pub.”

Ed, 30, is obsessed with the show about a violent biker gang in California, which had its first UK airing on Channel 5.

Writer and director Sutter played gang member Otto Delaney in the hit television drama series.

Ed became so caught up in watching it that he even landed a part in Sutter’s next TV project, The B*****d Executioner.

Example, 39, says Ed has also hung Lego from the pub ceiling in tribute to third hit Lego House.

The rapper said: “It’s a pretty exceptional house. He’s got a big pond, but it’s got a diving board into it and stairs. It’s like a natural swimming pool.

“He tried to make me go in it and I was like, ‘Mate, I’m probably gonna get hypothermia’.”

Kickstarts star Example – whose real name is Elliot John Gleave – added: “He’s one of my best pals, even though I only see him now once a year.

“It’s one of those friendships where even if you don’t chat for ages you’re still tight. The fact he still wants to come to my gig, it shows how grounded he is.”
