Halle Berry stuns in wild Met Gala look as she braves no underwear in see-through dress

Catwoman actress Halle Berry turned up to the Met Gala in a very eye-catching look as she opted to go underwear free in a sheer gown for her most risque outfit ever

Halle Berry caught plenty of eyes when she rocked up to the exclusive Met Gala on Monday night. The Oscar winning actress, 58, dazzled in a sheer number that's been dubbed her most risque ever.

She looked sensational as she headed to the famed Metropolitan Museum of Art for the bash held by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. Held on the first Monday of May each year, the annual haute couture fundraising festival sees attempt at following the theme.

This year's Met Gala was centred on Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, and the accompanying dress code was Tailored for You. Around 450 names from various sectors such as technology, sports, arts, entertainment and beyond made up the exclusive guest list.

Halle secured her invite and made sure all eyes were on her as she walked the red carpet into the lavish bash. She wore a plunging, beaded black and sheer stiped LaQuan Smith gown.

However, the Catwoman star made the bold decision to ditch her underwear and risked the chance of a wardrobe malfunction as she made the walk. The daring ensemble featured sheer cut outs around her midriff and crotch, with Halle topping it off with a cropped black blazer.

Halle added a small fascinator hat and a statement silver necklace, while her gown boasted a train. The designer of her dress, LaQuan Smith, told Vogue: "It captures the theme’s message of self-expression and being bold in the way that you look and dress.

"The dress’s details showcase the ethos of the theme: exaggerated lines, luxurious fabrics, and sheer boldness." He summed up the look as "a mix of sexy-Bond-girl meets Harlem Renaissance."

Speaking of working with Halle, LaQuan added: "She knows exactly who she is and has such a clear sense of style, but she’s also incredibly collaborative. During the fittings, she wasn’t just stepping into a garment—she was shaping it with me.

"She pushed for certain cuts that enhanced her movement, and we played with sheer panels to strike that perfect balance between elegance and edge."

This year, Anna along with actor Colman Domingo, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, rapper A$AP Rocky, musician-turned-fashion-mogul Pharrell Williams and honorary chair LeBron James co-chaired the event.

Before the event, the Vogue boss made sure to dispel the long-running myth that she insists on signing off on all of the outfits worn by celebrities at the annual Met Gala before the event.

She revealed many of the A-list guests like to ask for advice but they are free to wear whatever they want and she doesn't need to give them her official approval.

During an interview on Good Morning America, host Michael Strahan ask Anna if she has to approve all the outfits seen on the red carpet and she replied: "No".

Anna went on to explain: "Many call and ask our advice, so we try and help some of them as best we can. Some, no idea."
