Jack Fincham solemn as he arrives at court without girlfriend to appeal jail sentence

Love Island star Jack Fincham - who rose to fame in 2018 - was sentenced to six weeks in prison for being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog

Love Island's Jack Fincham was pictured walking into Basildon Crown Court on Friday as he prepares to appeal his jail sentence. The reality star was sentenced to six weeks in prison for being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog, his black Cane Corso called Elvis.

On Friday morning, he looked downcast as he arrived at court wearing a white t-shirt, cardigan, and brown overcoat. He also carried a large shoulder bag and his phone in his hand. The star slicked his hair back for his hearing. His on-off reality star girlfriend, Chloe Brockett, wasn't seen with him ahead of his hearing.

Following his sentencing in January, he was released on the same day after an appeal was submitted.

The 33-year-old star was sentenced after two separate incidents with his dog. The first incident saw his dog, Elvis, bite a runner called Robert Sudell in Swanley, Kent, in September 2022.

The runner accepted an apology and the star was going to be cautioned and instructed to engage with a responsible dog ownership course.

Conditions were made for Fincham to follow, including one that stated Elvis must be muzzled, but last year saw a second incident. In Grays, Essex, Jack's dog was out of control and attacked a women - who was thankfully not injured.

At the end of January, Fincham admitted two counts of being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog, with one of the incidents causing injury.

His on-off girlfriend Chloe Brockett, who was in court to support him, cried after he was sentenced to six weeks in prison. Along with the jail term, the TV personality was ordered to pay £3,680 in total, including a £961 fine, and £200 compensation to the runner, Mr Sudell.

Presiding magistrate Anne Wade allowed Fincham to pay the total sum in instalments, starting at £400 per month, after his representative Richard Cooper said his client had "no savings" in his account.

In January, he was led to the cells after his sentencing but was released on the same day. The Southend Magistrates' Court admin office told the BBC the reality TV star had been freed just hours later because he had appealed his sentence and he was later pictured out and about with his TOWIE girlfriend Chloe.

Not only did he have to report to Grays police station every week while he waited his appeal hearing, he also had to place tight restrictions on his dog.

Presiding magistrate Anne Wade stated the dog had to be muzzled in public places, be kept on a lead and could not be left alone with anyone under the age of 16.
