Loki actor Jack Veal, 17, issues distressing update about homelessness in video filmed on street

Marvel star Jack Veal, 17, starred in Disney+'s Loki alongside Tom Hiddleston and has posted a handful of distressing TikTok videos this week

Marvel star Jack Veal has shared a new, distressing video about his homelessness battle.

This week, the 17-year-old actor told his followers he is homeless and pleaded with them to share his videos in a bid to find shelter. Today, Jack issued an update after a meeting with social services, but claimed it didn’t go well.

The teen is best known for playing Kid Loki in Disney and Marvel’s hit series Loki, which stars Tom Hiddleston. He has also had roles in 2022’s TV series The Peripheral and played an uncredited extra in The Favourite, starring Emma Stone.

Clearly distressed while standing on a London street, Jack said in his latest update: “I’m 17 and street homeless, I went to the meeting, they’ve told me that I need to be street homeless again or return home, which I can’t do, until they find me a foster care placement, which might take a while.”

He went on: “They’re telling me it’s gonna be days, which is probably gonna be weeks, because they lie. So I’m gonna have to be street homeless, despite the fact I’ve been put under care. I’ve been put under Section 20 at the moment, which is care.

“And they’re still refusing to accommodate me because they don’t believe [my] home’s unsafe, despite the evidence I’ve given them. So I don’t know what to do. Again, this is another call out for help. They wanna put me in foster care but in the meantime I have to stay on the streets.”

Jack concluded: “It’s f*****g ridiculous. I cannot f*****g believe it. We got a recording, we’re gonna cover their details and stuff. They don’t wanna be recorded [but] we’ve got everything in script. Some of the lies they’ve just told us. Please stay tuned. We’re here to expose the system.”

In a video uploaded a day earlier, the TV star gave a harrowing account of his living situation and mental health. He revealed he is currently living in an ‘unsafe’ trailer with ‘smashed windows’, Jack also shared that he’d been forced to sleep on the streets.

He said in part: “Hi. I'm a famous actor, I'm 17, and I'm homeless. I haven't mentioned much about what's been going on in my life, but I think it's time to reveal the truth.

“I didn't have a very good upbringing. I struggle with mental health. I have autism, ADHD, and am being screened for bipolar and psychosis. I can't stay at my grandparents' because my granddad is terminally unwell. I have nowhere else to go, and I need help. Social services refuses to help me despite what I have told them. I am desperate.”

He went on: “I need help. Please share, please share it with whoever you can. You don't have to pay me anything, I don't need anything. I just need you to make this go as viral as possible. I'll continue to put some more stuff out, but, please, I need help.”

A Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government spokesperson told Mirror Online: “The impact of homelessness is devastating, and the law is clear that any 16 or 17 year old who is homeless is a child in need and should be supported to find a safe place to live.

“We are determined to end homelessness for good and are taking decisive action to do this – increasing funding for homelessness services to £1 billion next year, building more affordable homes and tackling one of the biggest drivers of homelessness by ending no fault evictions.”
