EXCLUSIVE: Scarlett Moffatt's wedding plans as she admits 'my relationship's changed'

Scarlett Moffatt has revealed more about her wedding plans as she admits there has been a big 'change' in her relationship with fiancé Scott Dobinson over the last few years

Scarlett Moffatt has become one of the most enduring famous faces on television since she started off on Gogglebox more than a decade ago. Never afraid to share all, the I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! legend has been open and honest with her weight struggles and general ups and downs since shooting to fame all those years ago.

Fans of the charming North East lass will know that she is engaged to Scott Dobinson, and they have two-year-old son Jude together. As she exclusively tells new magazine, they are about to embark on the next step in their relationship by tying the knot, but Scarlett has now candidly shared an update on how the plans are going.

"We booked a date and I can't tell you how excited I am!" she gushes, over the big day that lies ahead. "We've booked a day but apparently I've booked it for too soon because the lead time on dresses and stuff is like from 12 months on. And we've got about seven months before I've even booked anything. I've just booked a venue, I've been so busy filming. And like now I'm like... at some point me and Scott are going to get married."

Here, Scarlett, who will soon head up her new documentary 10 Days to 10K for Channel Four, emotionally reflects how her relationship with Scott has changed, why she still lives in the North East and not being bound to the 'pressures' she felt during her early days in the spotlight...

Hi, Scarlett. How’s little Jude?

Our spare bedroom we made into a playroom for him and I was like, “This way we can keep all of these toys in one place,” because grandparents just go a little bit crazy with the presents. But I really enjoy it. He’s a proper “lad”. It’s not like we’ve encouraged him but he just loves cars and toolboxes and diggers. I’ve tried to do some musicals with him but he’s not having it yet!

Are the terrible twos real?

He’s just a little character. He’s really coming into his own. He’s so chatty – I know you’ll find that hard to believe, with a mam like me!

Is there anything you wish someone had told you about motherhood?

How much fun it would be! Yes it’s hard, it is tiring but it’s just so much fun. Scott and I are getting married soon, and it’s changed our relationship. I look at him when he’s with Jude and it makes me think, I definitely made the right choice. It makes me love him more.

How are the wedding plans coming along?

We booked a date and I can’t tell you how excited I am! I’ve just booked a venue for seven months’ time, I’ve been so busy filming. And now I’m like… at some point me and Scott are going to get married. We are going to have to plan what we want this wedding to look like! It’s going to be up north so we must have seen every venue in County Durham and the north-east in general!

Despite having a big showbiz career, you have decided to stay up north…

When I was younger I was like, “Gosh, how amazing it is to live in a big city,” and London is like a country all in itself. I’m so pleased I did that when I was young, but I’m like a homing pigeon. I’ve just filmed a documentary with Channel 4 coming out in November called 10 Days To 10K and we filmed all of that up north, which was wonderful.

What’s the draw?

It’s home and it’s the best place ever! Ant and Dec did it for me. When I watched SM:TV Live for the first time I remember thinking, “Wow! If I want to be on the telly then I can because they sound like me!” I hope I can encourage even one person [to see] that you don’t have to actually move away. You can live in the north, and live out your dreams – even if it means catching a few trains!

Are you still in touch with Ant and Dec?

They’re so wonderful and we’ve always stayed in touch. You hear people say, “Don’t meet your heroes.” I actually advise it because mine were Ant and Dec and they’re just lovely. They deserve all the success because what they do is really hard and they make it look really easy.

Congrats on your weight loss – you look amazing!

Honestly, I’ve not lost any weight! I don’t know if it’s just because I’m happy, my cortisol levels are down and I’m not as bloated. I was getting people coming up to me going, “Wow you’ve done so well!” I’m literally the same but I’ll take the compliment! It’s unjust though – I fee like I’m cheating.

Are you more relaxed about weight now?

I think it comes with age. When you’re younger sometimes you think it’s more important what size your clothes are, whereas now I’ve got a little one to look after. I just want to be at my healthiest, so I can be around for the longest time for him. I just look after my mind and body the best I can, but I don’t put any pressure on myself.

Can you believe it’s been nearly 10 years since you won I’m A Celebrity?

It’s actually gone so fast! I can’t believe that it’s been nearly a decade, it just feels crazy. I’ll be watching this year. I’ve read rumours that Lisa Riley was going in. I really hope she is and does really well because she always comes across as so wonderful.

You’re heading Homesense’s The Great Cushion Debate. How are you enjoying that?

Ha! I love Homesense, especially when it’s autumn and winter. I am someone who changes all the decor in the house to pumpkins – it is very me. So then when they did all of their research and found that nearly half of Brits admit to having a friendly debate with partners about home decor, I was like, this is good, because me and Scott do have some tiffs about things. The other day he came in and I’d bought eight new cushions for the bed. He saw them all on the bed and just started laughing, going, “Well what’s the point of that?! Now I’ve got to pull them all back off again when I go to bed, haven’t I?” I was just like, “You’re missing the point, Scott!”
