Sinead O'Connor fans outraged as 'horrific' waxwork 'doesn't even look like her'
A waxwork of the late Sinead O'Connor has been unveiled at the National Wax Museum in Dublin exactly a year after her tragic death, but fans are not impressed with the figure
Fans have blasted a "horrific" waxwork of the late Sinead O'Connor, unveiled to the public with much anticipation.
The iconic Irish singer-songwriter, who left the world too soon at 56 on July 26 last year, is remembered for her haunting rendition of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U". Her untimely death sent ripples through the music industry as fans and fellow artists mourned the loss of the distinctive talent.
Sinead had been struggling after the devastating loss of her son Shane in January 2022. The grief put her final album, No Veterans Die Alone, on hold and led to the cancellation of her planned tour.
In a show of solidarity and remembrance, Ireland came together to honour Sinead's contribution to music. This collective effort saw the creation of a wax figure in her likeness, intended for display at Dublin's National Wax Museum.

The big reveal took place on Thursday morning (July 25), just one day shy of the anniversary of her passing. Paddy Dunning, the museum's owner and O'Connor's friend, delivered an emotional speech before unveiling the waxwork, which bore a plaque commemorating the event, reports the Daily Star.

Dunning remarked: "We didn't put her with this great big smile, we put her as a serious artist in this period time of Nothing Compares 2 U, which was an emotional video. I think it touched everyone's heart."
"The head is amazing, the eyebrows, the lips, the hands are pretty amazing."
However, some fans were left scratching their heads at the final result, criticising the waxwork for not resembling the singer.
One disgruntled fan quickly took to social media to voice their opinion under a video of the unveiling. "Maybe it's just a bad angle on the video, but that looks like a very poor likeness," they wrote. "Looks more like a shop window mannequin."
Another user chimed in, stating: "Absolutely horrific. That could be anyone - Sinead had a beauty about her."
A third piled on the criticism, venting: "Doesn't even resemble her, looks like a mannequin taken from Arnott's shop window," referring to the famous Dublin department store.
Some fans were also puzzled by the waxwork's location, as it was revealed next to a group of Star Wars characters. One observant fan noticed that Sinead was placed next to the iconic sci-fi figures.
This left them equally baffled, questioning: "And she's next to Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Vader because....? ? ? ? ? ? " Several people from O'Connor's past attended the unveiling of the waxwork, including her ex-husband John Reynolds.
The couple tied the knot in March of 1989, but ended their relationship after only two years together.
