Tristan Thompson's baby mama Maralee Nichols breaks silence after paternity test

NBA star Tristan Thompson's baby mama Maralee Nicholas has said that she never had any doubt in her mind that he was the father of her child

Maralee Nichols has finally broken her silence after Tristan Thompson admitted that he is the father of their child after he underwent a paternity test.

It comes after basketball star Tristan, 30, announced the results in a grovelling apology to his former partner Khloe Kardashian on Instagram.

Tristan had repeatedly asked for a DNA test to prove he was the father after Maralee's claims in a lawsuit that the pair had sexual intercourse over his 30th birthday weekend last March. The sports star admitted that he had sex with the personal trainer, but had denied being the father of her child.

Maralee gave birth to their son on December 1.

The infant is Tristan's third child, with the star also being dad to five-year-old Prince, whom he shares with model Jordan Craig.

The new mum has now finally spoken out following the controversy.

Maralee's lawyer, Harvey Englander, told Mail Online: "There was never any doubt that Tristan Thompson was the father of Maralee Nichols' baby.

"Tristan made numerous false and defamatory statements and declarations about Maralee over the past few months, and she is taking his contrite statement today in the context of all of those statements."

Maralee's comments come after Tristan issued a grovelling apology to his former girlfriend Khloe Kardashian on social media.

He took to his Story to write: "Today paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols.

"I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established, I look forward to amicably raising our son."

He went on to apologise to Khloe Kardashian - the mother of his three-year-old daughter, True - and anyone else who has been affected by the situation.

"I sincerely apologize to everyone I've hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both publicly and privately.

Khloe, you don't deserve this. You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you."

He continued: "You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you.

"I have the upmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry."

The news of the paternity test comes as fans of the Kardashians believe Khloe "missed two red flags" with Tristan before the scandals.

A Reddit user has pointed to the episode of the family's reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians in which Khloe introduced Tristan to her sisters.

The user commented on how they found it odd that the basketball player was trying to get into a serious relationship at the age of 25 when he was expecting a child with another woman.

They also pointed out an apparent lack of chemistry between the duo in the early stages of their relationship.
