Together For Palestine concert highlights as celebrities raise £1.5 million for Gaza
Notable figures appeared at the UK's largest fundraiser for Gaza, Together for Palestine, in Wembley Arena on Wednesday, £1.5 million raised, speeches and performances calling for an end to Gaza siege
Dozens of artists, actors, activists, musicians and journalists flooded the stage in Wembley on Wednesday 17 September, in a grand show of support for Palestine. The Together For Palestine concert saw notable figures come to support Palestinian-led organisations amidst the humanitarian crisis in Palestine.
Ahead of the concert, a pre-recorded video was shown which featured Grammy-winning artists Billie Eilish and Finneas, Oscar-winning actor Cillian Murphy and award-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix along with many other celebrities calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
A total of 69 celebrities appeared at the arena and among them were actors; Florence Pugh, Benedict Cumberbatch and performances by; PinkPantheress and Bastille as well as Palestinian artists; Saint Levant and Elyanna, all actively showing solidarity for Palestine.
The event raised a staggering £1.5 million which was announced by actress and activist Jameela Jamil at 10pm. Ticket sales alone raised an estimated £500,000. The performance that drew the loudest ovation was when Swedish singer-songwriter and rapper, Neneh Cherry joined London artist, Greentea Peng to perform her Grammy-nominated hit, Seven Seconds.
Nicola Coughlan says artists she loves have said 'nothing' about Palestine
Nicola Coughlan has long shown support and raised money for Palestine. Last year, she organised two fundraisers: her first one raised €70,000 (£60,000) and her second fundraiser, €1.7 million (£1.4 million). The proceeds went to Palestine Children's Relief Fund, ActionAid UK, and Medical Aid For Palestine. Since then she has raised over €500,000 (£433,000) for Medical Aid for Palestine.
Coughlan has spoken out previously on how as an Irish person, she has a connection to Palestine due to the occupation of her own country.
Coughlan solemnly said at the concert: "There are many artists that I love, and I know you love, that have hundreds of millions of followers, and they're saying nothing."
Florence Pugh puts pressure on the government for change
Florence Pugh, was one of the 400+ public figures who signed the open letter from Choose Love in July 2025 to the UK's Prime Minister Keir Starmer to end the atrocities in Gaza.
Florence expressed gratitude on stage at the Together For Palestine event at how many people showed up and strongly urged that: "Silence in the face of such suffering is not neutrality. It is complicity."
She thanked the audience and concluded that there must be "pressure on the governments."

Bridgeton star says 'who cares about my career?' as she stands for Palestine
Charithra Chandran, who played Edwina Sharma in Bridgeton, was one of the many artists who signed the letter, Artists4Ceasefire to then US President Joe Biden back in October 2023 and has consistently spoken out for Palestine on her platform.
When asked at Wednesday's event if she was worried about her career being on the line for showing support for Palestine, she told Novara Media, "Children are dying, who cares about my career?"
Richard Gere begs Trump to stop the 'craziness' in Palestine
Hollywood actor Richard Gere, a longstanding humanitarian for many causes, criticised Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's policies on the Palestinian and Israeli settlement expansions in the occupied West Bank back in 2017, when he visited Jerusalem for a local premiere for his film.
He took to the stage at Together For Palestine to call out the Israeli Prime Minister again, and said: "Netanyahu has to go."
He went on to single out President Trump and said: "There's one man who could stop this whole thing in one day. In one day, he could stop all this craziness."
Gorillaz make a virtual stand during their performance
Gorillaz have been well-known for their political music for years, since they started in 1998. Their latest single, "The Happy Dictator" featured American pop and rock duo Sparks. Gorillaz spoke to Rolling Stone UK and Damon Albarn said the song “touches that sweet spot between making something that’s fun and also got some social, political clout to it”.
Their virtual stand during their Together For Palestine performance showcased the band's powerful support for Palestine.
