Sabrina Carpenter bares all in cheeky teaser clip as she hints at next music project

Sabrina Carpenter fans have been left too stunned to speak amid the news of a possible new song titled 'Manchild', with many claiming the next track will make her 'Queen of Summer'

Sabrina Carpenter raised the temperatures after posting an impromptu cheeky clip possibly teasing some new music. Fans are already claiming it to be “the song of the summer”, with others also thinking it could be a shout out to her ex, Barry Keoghan.

The singer shook the internet after sharing a vintage-inspired teaser clip on her social media accounts. Wearing a white top, a pair of cheeky denim shorts and course, platform high heels, Sabrina is seen hitchhiking, but is ignored by two cars passing by. The 17-second clip is silent, with no music heard over the scene and ends with Sabrina saying "Oh, boy."

The new song is believed to be titled ‘Manchild’ after several billboards with her initials ‘SC’ were spotted across the US. At the age of 26, Sabrina has secured her status as a rising pop star after releasing her hit song ‘Espresso’ in April 2024.

What was meant to be "a little song before Coachella" ended up reaching the number three spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent over a year on the chart. It also marked Sabrina’s first top-ten single, leading her to win her first-ever Grammy award for Best Pop Solo Performance.

With currently 2.27 billion streams on Spotify, 'Espresso' became the summer song for 2024 -and now, fans are hopeful that 'Manchild' could be the summer anthem of 2025. One commented: “Sabrina saved summer 2024 with espresso, now coming to save summer 2025,” with another adding: “Song of the summer incoming.”

Naturally, the possibility of new music has excited Sabrina fans, who have been craving a taste of what she has been working on. The teaser comes after rumours that Sabrina was cast as the lead character for the upcoming sequel of Mamma Mia 3.

The former Disney Channel star could follow in the footsteps of Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried and Lily James at the heart of the beloved franchise. And for fans eager to bring to an end the seven-year drought since the release of Mamma Mia 2, they may not have much longer to wait.

The creator behind the original West End show and its two immensely popular movie spin-offs off Judy Cramer has revealed she has written a script and work for the ABBA-themed musical is once again in the works. Speaking to Deadline, the producer hinted at Carpenter's remarkable resemblance to both Seyfried and Streep's original character: "She’d be a goddess or some relation who would look very much like Meryl Streep," she said. "We know what we want to do with the movie, and it will happen.”
