28 Years Later: The Bone Temple trailer's chilling voiceover and where it's from

Horror movie fans have been wondering where the chilling voiceover in the new trailer for 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is from

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is the next gripping chapter in the iconic zombie movie saga and a trailer has just been released.

The thrilling follow-up to this year’s long-awaited third film in the hit horror franchise is set for release in cinemas this January.

Directed by Nia DaCosta and written by Alex Garland, the film not only features the return of Ralph Fiennes and Aaron Taylor-Johnson but will also see Cillian Murphy reprising his role as Jim from the first film, 2002’s 28 Days Later.

A chilling trailer dropped this week and fans are ecstatic to see the follow-up arriving so soon after the latest zombie thriller.

The footage is paired with an eerie voiceover discussing the dangers that could await humanity in the future along with some equally ominous backing vocals.

But where does the voiceover come from?

The trailer begins with a chilling warning: “Trying to predict the future is a discouraging, hazardous occupation. In fact, it may not even exist at all.”

Viewers then witness some familiar locations from the previous film, set in a post-apocalyptic Britain that has been overrun with humans infected by a rage-inducing virus for decades.

The haunting soundtrack then begins, taken from ballad singer Berzilla Wallin performing the folk song Conversation With Death.

As the action intensifies, the voiceover continues: “Many of the things we take for granted will one day pass away completely.

“When that time comes, men will no longer communicate.

“We may have diseases and barbarism. The whole world will cease to make any sense.

“Look at the incredible changes we’ve experienced and survived. And yet even greater changes are still to come.”

The bleak predictions of the future could give you a hint towards who the voiceover is from, as the clip is actually from science fiction author Arthur C Clarke.

Clarke is best known for providing his own chilling vision of the future in his novel 2001: A Space Odyssey, adapted into the iconic Stanley Kubrick film.

His words used in the Bone Temple’s gripping trailer have been snipped from an old episode of the BBC series Horizon, a long-running science programme that first began in 1964.
