Toy Story's Tim Allen drops major movie plotline after being asked about sequel
Disney Legend Tim Allen shared his excitement as he reprises his role as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 5 - and he spilled details on the storyline from who the story focuses on to 'funniest thing' his character does
Tim Allen has offered a hint at a major plotline in the upcoming Toy Story film as he returns to his role as Buzz Lightyear, alongside Tom Hanks as Woody. Back in 2023, Disney and Pixar confirmed they are bringing another Toy Story 5 to the big screens from June 19, 2026. Not much is known about the highly-anticipated film yet, aside from that it will focus on "Toy meets Tech" - and explore how technology has had an impact on Bonnie and her toys.
Tim Allen, who has been playing Buzz Lightyear for over 30 years, recently appeared on popular US show Kelly & Mark to discuss the film - and shared fresh details.
The 72-year-old Disney Legend, also known for being Santa in the Santa Clause franchise, said: "It's such a great story, I can only tell a little bit of it - it's a Jessie story."
He continued: "Tom and I have to reunite and there's just the funniest thing because there's a whole bunch of Buzzes involved - and there's a reason why. There's 100 of me in a separate story and I get to play and have fun. So, the story is good."

Speaking about the Toy Story films, he added: "It's an amazing life span... and some of the real big directors I know think [Toy Story] 3 was the best movie they've ever seen.
"And then I got teared up because we did the last scene when I had to say 'to infinity' and he had to say 'beyond'."
He said neither of them could say the line to each other. And then, to Tim's amazement, he was told a fifth film was going to be made.
Previously, a clip of the Toy Story 5 production appeared to show a shipment of Buzz Lightyear toys crashed on a deserted island, who are then required to work together to build a raft to get back to Star Command. Elsewhere, still images showed Jessie addressing a new character called LilyPad - a green tablet with a frog-like appearance.
LilyPad, which belongs to Bonnie is believed to be following in the footsteps of Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear, and Emperor Zurg as the lead villain of the film.
Announcing the production in August last year, Disney stated: "The toys are back in Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 5, and this time around it's Toy meets Tech. Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang's jobs get exponentially harder when they go head to head with this all-new threat to playtime."
