Pumpkin-shaped pizza bombs will go down a treat with kids this Halloween
A woman has shared how she made the perfect Halloween snack, pulling apart the bread to reveal the gorgeous melted cheese in the middle. So, here's how to make them...
Halloween is fast approaching, and if you're wondering how to mark the occasion with your little ones (or just for yourself), look no further. You've likely already put your decorations up and are spooking the neighbours daily, you probably have your knock-em-dead costume at the ready - but do you have all your Halloween food planned?
If you or your kids are having a themed spooky night (Halloween does fall on a Friday this year after all), then you'll want to make these amazing pumpkin-shaped pizza bombs. Beatriz, who posts on TikTok as @makelifesimpler_ shared the ingredients list to make the tasty treats.
And, people couldn't stop admiring her Halloween collection utensils from OTOTO, including the vampire garlic crusher and the bat wing scissors.
To make the scarily good pumpkin bombs, you'll need a pizza dough sheet, tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, ham, butcher's twine, egg (for brushing), basil leaves and pretzels.
For the marinara dip, you'll need tomato sauce, garlic, olive oil, and salt.
At the start of the video, Beatriz could be seen pulling apart the cheesy goodness, and it looked so good, and they're well worth making, so you can taste them for yourself.
First, you need to lay out the pizza dough sheet and cut it into equal squares. Then, spread some of the tomato sauce in a circle in the middle of the dough.
Then, you'll need to sprinkle some grated cheese onto the sauce and cut little bits of ham on top as well.
Pull all the corners up together so you're making a 'bomb' shape, and then tie the butcher's twine like she does in the video, ensuring that it's going to form a pumpkin shape.
It's then time to put egg wash over them so they come out of the oven looking perfectly golden brown.
Then, to make the sauce, crush some garlic, fry it off in olive oil, and then add in the tomato sauce along with some salt until it's warm.
This is then the perfect dipping sauce for your little pumpkin bites once they're out of the oven.
She didn't specify how long you had to pop them in for, but someone said "less than 15 minutes" in the oven. Based on how long a pizza like this would take, we'd recommend anywhere from 8-12 minutes at 180 degrees, depending on how melted you want the cheese to be, and how crisp you want the bread to be. It's personal preference.
In the video, Beatriz then cracked open a bottle of wine to enjoy with her food, but whether or not you do this depends on the company you'll be with during the evening.
She then added a garnish to make the pumpkin stalks, and voila, the pizza bites were made - and they look absolutely divine.
In the comments, someone said that they wanted to "make these but with chocolate". Instead of the tomato base, you could use a chocolate spread, and add marshmallows on the top. Imagine how tasty they'd be!
