'I found dream wedding dress for £8.50 and was gobsmacked when I tried it on'
A woman was left in disbelief after finding a wedding dress for just £8.50 in a charity shop - and the gown looks absolutely stunning on her thanks to its perfect fit
When browsing through a charity shop, you'd typically expect to discover old T-shirts, classic DVDs, and enough mugs to stock every cupboard in your home. But one woman couldn't believe her luck when she discovered her perfect wedding gown in a Goodwill store - and it cost her just £8.50 ($11.50).
Sharing her incredible fortune on Reddit, she revealed: "Found my wedding dress for $11.50 (£8.50) at Goodwill. Cannot contain my excitement. Also cannot wait to tell people and then correct them when they assume I mean $1.150. Truly the find of a lifetime."
The bohemian-style dress suits her figure flawlessly, cascading to the floor at just the right length for flat or low-heeled footwear.
The gown is cream-coloured with an off-the-shoulder design combined with a flowing train that will trail behind her as she makes her way down the aisle.
Responding to her discovery, one user commented: "I love it! Congratulations on your wedding and scoring a beautiful dress!"
Another user replied: "Omg I bought this dress new for my wedding a few months ago! I paid $100 (£75) - on sale from $170 (£126). Wish I would have paid $11.50 (£8.50) though."
A third user remarked: "You definitely did! It's perfect and giving the ultimate boho vibe. Congratulations on your find and upcoming nuptials."
One additional user shared: "I found mine for $60 (£45) plus an additional $30 (£22) for the train. I was told it by an older family member from my husband's side that it's the most beautiful dress she'd ever seen and she'd gone to many.
"First dress I tried one, the first goodwill we stopped at. You can sometimes find the best stuff. Your dress looks lovely and you don't even need to fix anything."
Another user said: "Truly stunning and I don't say that lightly. This is a wow dress perfectly paired with you.
"Enjoy the heck out of your nuptials! $11 (£8) never looked more beautiful."
A final user added: "I found mine when I was 19 for $40 (£30) at Goodwill. Beautiful 1950s dress in perfect condition. It’s hanging in my closet until the time is right."
It follows after a man walked away with a decent windfall after purchasing a suit from his local charity shop.
He revealed how he popped into his neighbourhood Goodwill store and makes certain to examine the pockets on nearly every item he can lay his hands on.
The bloke said on Reddit: "I've always seen posts of people saying to check pockets of like jeans/pants and what not at Goodwill and for the past year or two every time I've gone to thrift stores I've checked some of the pockets to some items.
"So today, I decided to go to the suit section and started checking some of the inner pockets of the suits.
"On around my 10th suit jacket checked, I found this. It was bundled up and I thought at a quick glance it might've just been some fake bills."
He wound up purchasing the jacket and when he returned to his motor, he swiftly rummaged through the pockets and discovered precisely how much he 'made' from his buy.
