'I read 100 books in a year – here are the five I can't stop thinking about'

These five books have been causing a big buzz on BookTok – with avid reader Jolie McAdoo listing them as the top titles she just can't get out of her head

Picking a book to read can be easier said than done.

There are millions of options out there – from fun beach reads to nail-biting thrillers and literary classics. But all that choice can make the selection process rather daunting.

Thankfully though, there are plenty of bookworms out there who can help us. Many of them share advice on 'BookTok', which is a community with millions of views on TikTok.

One BookToker is Jolie McAdoo, who boasts more than 252,000 followers on the platform. She read 113 books last year, so is very knowledgeable in the area.

The social media star recently shared the five romance books she can't stop thinking about. And as she got through more than 39,000 pages in 2023, this is no mean feat!

Jolie said: "Here are some books that I quite literally think about on a daily basis." She then went on the list the following titles...

Top five recommended books

1. Magnolia Parks by Jessa Hastings

This romance book was published in 2021 and centres around the story of a stunning socialite living in London. She is hung up on a famous bad boy who broke her heart, leaving her to question "how many loves do you really get in a lifetime?"

2. Love Wager by Lynn Painter

Lynn Painter is a New York Times bestselling author – and this particular book centres around an unlucky-in-love duo who have a one night stand. They become friends competing with each other to find 'The One' – but soon realise the solution could be looking them right in the face.

3. Say you Swear by Meagan Brandy

This is a popular option for many on BookTok – with some even daydreaming about one of the fictional hearthrobs being their own boyfriends! It's described as quite "spicy" as some, which means there is some sexier content if that floats your boat.

4. Addicted to You by Krista and Becca Ritchie

If it wasn't fascinating enough to find identical twins who write books together, these authors have written about unhealthy relationships. It isn't your typical love story – as the book focuses on the topic of battling addiction.

5. A Not So Meet Cute by Meghan Quinn

Listen up, rom com fans – as this title could be the one for you. It's inspired by Pretty Woman and has been hailed as "steamy and addictive" on Amazon. The story follows a woman who bumps into a stranger without feeling any sparks – but it's safe to say they soon grow!
