'I tried Primark's viral £5 sports bras to test whether they're H-cup friendly'
When you have a fuller bust, it can be a real slog to find a sports bra that actually provides adequate support for a workout. But for a fiver, I thought Primark's offering was worth a try
It can be hard to find sports bras that actually fit properly, offer the support you want, and don't slip into a very compromising position when you're doing squats and all sorts. Not to mention the fact that it's hard to find one that doesn't come with an eye-wateringly high price tag if you're fuller-busted. I've bought size XXL sports bras from gymwear brands in the past that have left me with less modesty than if I hadn't bothered to wear one at all, which is very frustrating.
However, since Primark's gym wear has been going viral on TikTok, I decided to give it a whirl for myself. With people saying they're "obsessed" with the items, and with a seriously cheap price tag, I thought 'Why not?'
The ones I tried were the Two-Pack Seamless Racerback Sports Bras, costing £10 for the pair. £5 each is a real bargain, but because they were so cheap, I must admit I was a little apprehensive about how good they'd be.
On Primark's website, it reads: "Offering medium support thanks to the built-in panels and firm sports fabrics, these racerback style sports bras utilise adjustable straps and a firm underband to help you feel secure whether you're running, jumping, or lifting your way to a lifestyle you love, all while looking sleek and chic thanks to the scooping neckline and flattering fit.
"Perfect for pairing with your favourite leggings, joggers, shorts, or layering under your gym top, these stylish sports bras make getting dressed for the gym a joy — that motivates us!"
The sports bras are padded and non-wired, and I'd say when it comes to choosing a size between XS and XXL, it's best to opt for the size you'd normally wear. I opted for an XL.
I really liked the way the bras held me. They kept my boobs secure without shifting them to under my chin or being too restrictive, and on the first try, I feel like they look really sleek, too.
Of course, you'd likely wear a top over them, but if you were working out from home, who cares?
As I mentioned, in the past, I've struggled to find decent sports bras. And when I have decided to treat myself to one, I've been left bitterly disappointed.
But, I guess that's what you should expect to a certain level when your boobs are F cup and above, as many brands don't cater.
However, Primark has really surprised me with how great the bras are!
I went for a Lady Gaga-themed HIIT workout, which involved a lot of jumping, squatting, and lunging for almost half an hour. And thankfully, my boobs didn't pop out or fall out of place the whole time.
As any fuller-busted person will tell you, this is genuinely a game-changer. I'm so used to thinking a sports bra fits, only for it to come crashing down when I do some courtesy squats.
I'd wholeheartedly recommend these sports bras. Not only are they comfy, but they hold your boobs in nicely without feeling suffocating, which is a win. And let's be real...for £5 each, it's worth a punt.
