Amazon launch 2020 Prime Day deals early with free £10 spend

The online giant has announced its annual two-day sale will return once again and is giving shoppers £10 free to spend, too

Amazon has confirmed that its annual Prime Day sale is returning in autumn this year - and is also giving customers £10 to spend.

The online giant, which has previously held the Prime Day sale in July, has announced the two-day event will take place on October 13 and 14 this year.

The epic sale will see discounts on technology, fashion, homeware and much more. Brands to expect in the savings range from Le Creuset and Nescafé to Sony and Toshiba.

What's more? Amazon has also launched a £10 voucher to encourage shoppers to spend money on smaller retailers.

To claim the discount, Amazon Prime members need to spend £10 between now and Prime Day on independent sellers on the site.

Small businesses can be found under the Amazon Storefronts section, which features a huge range of departments including toys and games, baby and clothing.

To kick off the annual sale, Amazon Prime Members are now also able to start shopping some early deals.

Below are some of the offers available from today:

The deals are only available to Amazon Prime users and not normal customers of the Amazon site.

This means you'll need to sign up to the scheme, which will set you back £79 a year or £7.99 a month.

Last year's Prime Day lasted 48 hours and took place on July 15th. Earlier this year Amazon announced the annual sale, which usually happens in July, would take place at a later date than normal due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Doug Gurr, Amazon UK Country Manager, said: "After a tough six months for everyone, we’re committed to making this the most successful Prime Day ever for small businesses.

"We're excited for members to discover the very best from artisans and entrepreneurs in the UK, while saving big on everything they need and love from the comfort of their homes."
