Argos' Samsung deal tempts fans to ditch S25 for much cheaper mobile

Samsung's newest S25 range is expected to launch today, but we've found another mobile deal worth looking at

It's a huge day for Samsung, as it is hours away from pressing the launch button on a brand new set of mobiles - the anticipated Galaxy S25 range. An upgrade from the current S24, S24Plus, and S24 Ultra models all-eyes will be on the hottest new devices and their features, but we couldn't help but get distracted.

A new deal-stacking offer gets mobile fans a huge saving on the A16 4G - Samsung's budget take on a device and considered a good pick for anyone not fussed about the flashiest piece of tech. Flying off the Argos shelves in its current sale, the SIM-free 138GB device is reduced to £129.99 - and we have a shopping tip to get it for even less.

Anyone who buys the the on-sale device from Argos through TopCashback's links will get an extra discount - dropping the price to an all-new-low of £111.74. The cheapest rate going, as we speak, it beats Amazon and Samsung's prices.

Samsung's flagship S25 range may be on the top of many tech fans minds, but that doesn't mean the deals on the 'older' S24 range have gone.

This Mobiles.co.uk 24-month contract deal is great value for money, at £23.99 per month -with a £79 upfront fee - and comes with 100GB of data, unlimited UK calls, and unlimited texts its £69 cheaper than Samsung's own store.

The only catch is, that the price will be hiked with inflation to £25.49 from April 1 2025.

From here, it is pretty simple to follow. Search for Argos (on the TopCashback site) and find the A16 4G Samsung deal, shopping as normal. After purchase - here at TopCashback - it'll take up to seven-working days for the £15 extra discount to appear - and it can be pocketed straight into shoppers' accounts.

Features of the Galaxy A16 4G

This budget model doesn't come close to rivalling Samsung's upcoming S range launch - and as an A range mobile, it's been purposefully designed to strip back swanky features in order to offer a basic mobile for a low price. Like Google does with its Pixel 8a range - that can be bought for £339 at Amazon.

If you want a high-performing model, then the S24 or soon-to-be S25 will be a better pick for you. However, the Galaxy A16 still has a lot to offer.

It has a full, high definition and Super AMOLED display with a decent 6.7-inch screen. At 7.9mm thickness, it's considered easy to carry around, too. It's also rare to still find it in stock, so it's no surprise to see Amazon's out-of-stock notice. With 56% of reviews rated five-star on the Prime retailer site, it's previously been an in-demand choice. "My 14-year-old loves this phone", said one recent shopper who bought their child the device as an upgrade from a Galaxy A14.

However, one shopper said that the A16 'fell short of their expectations'. As they said: "While the budget friendly price point is attractive, I expected better performance based on my past experiences with Samsung's more affordable phones."
