'Far superior to other makes' Shoppers prepare for winter chill with Lakeland touchscreen soup maker

One shopper said they prefer the Lakeland device to the Ninja Foodi

Hearty meal season is here. If you love comfort foods but are trying to avoid loading up on too many carbs then soup is the way to go, it's still incredibly comforting but isn't too heavy.

Of course, you can make soup the old-fashioned way. In a pan, use a handheld blender to smoothen your mixture, but if you're planning on making it all the time, then investing in a soup maker will save you hours slaving over a hot stove.

Luckily, Lakeland has reduced the price of its best-selling Touchscreen Soup Maker by £50 - now £99.99, down from £149.99. The kitchen device whips up delicious homemade soup in 30 minutes and comes with more than 217 customer reviews - 174 are awarded five-stars.

The soup maker has four automatic settings, and you can set it to your own time and temperature to suit whatever recipes you use. It makes thick or smooth soup, sauce, or crushed ice. The Touchscreen Soup Maker is on sale on the Lakeland website and on Amazon.

One Lakeland.co.uk customer wrote a review reading: "I use it nearly every day. I previously had a Ninja Foodi HB150UK, it blew soup out the top, was terribly noisy and then packed up after two years. The Lakeland Touchscreen Soup Maker is so much better. It cooks and blends the soup way better, has no leaks and is so much quieter.

"Easy to add caramelised food from a pan due to its wide neck and the lid easily pushes on. Perfect soups and sauces and very easy to clean, I love it. I have used soup makers for years and this is definitely the best so far. TIP: If you add flour to thicken, add it last on top and whisk in with a fork, not first as it sticks."

A second said: "I have had this soup maker for two years, would definitely recommend! I have found this soup maker is far superior to other makes and models and so easy to use at the touch of a button. It’s so versatile, too. It’s not just a soup maker; we make smoothies, sauces, and crushed ice. Definitely well worth investing in."

A third simply added, "I bought this for my daughter. She was delighted with it. She puts it on, then takes the dog for a walk, and comes back to delicious soup." However, one customer said it is hard to clean, writing: "I was extremely disappointed by this product as it wasn't easy or quick to clean as it states in the description and I was still left with residue on the bottom of the soup maker despite following the instructions and trying the additional notes on the other reviews.

"A big thank you to Lakeland's customer service for their help and support in obtaining a refund, your customer service team is excellent."

Another found the jug heavy, explaining: "I was so looking forward to making use of the vegetables in my fridge to make my first batch of soup. Sadly I found the jug just too heavy - I had difficulty lifting it up when empty so I knew that it would be unsafe for me to attempt to lift it when full."
