Google Pixel 9 Pro hits low prices as hundreds cut off the cost - for this reason

Now is a great time to snap up a discounted Google Pixel phone

Despite being nearly a year old the Google Pixel 9 devices are still a great buy, with some real savings to be made on Google's excellent camera phone. The Pixel 9 and the Pixel 9 Pro are both down to their lowest prices, with savings of up to £400 up for grabs.

The Pixel 9 family of phones launched in August 2024 and are much lauded for their design, the bright display and powerful camera, while also being the first phones to run Android 16, the latest software from Google.

If you're looking to get yourself the Pixel 9 Pro on contract, GiffGaff has slashed £400 off the price. That's for the 128GB model with £20 up front and then monthly payments as low as £18.31 for the handset.

With giffgaff, you get to choose whether you pay over 12, 24 or 36 months, so you can pick a payment plan that works for you. Then you choose the data plan, which starts at £10 a month for 25GB data. That can see your payments come out at £28.31 a month, for Google's flagship phone.

Note that under this deal, the phone payments are spread over 36-months, while the data plan is 18-months, so you'd be free to choose a new deal on the data after that.

Save big on Google's flagship phone with a great camera and Gemini AI experience.

The same deal at Sky Mobile - for the 128GB Pixel 9 Pro with 25GB data - would cost £45 a month, with £12 upfront, so GiffGaff is definitely on to something.

Alternatively, Mobiles.co.uk is offering the Pixel 9 Pro 128GB with 100GB data on ID Mobile for £29.99 a month with £9 upfront on a 24-month contract. Again, it's a great deal.

The Pixel 9 Pro is powered by the Tensor G4 processor and benefits from 7 years of software support from Google, meaning that the phone will have all the latest updates through the length of your contract. That's going to include the anticipated update to Material 3 Expressive - Google's new design language - within the coming months.

This is a phone that's been built around Google's AI - Gemini - offering a slick and fast experience. But it's the camera that really shines, with a 5x optical zoom lens that really gets you close to the detail. Day or night, the camera produces great photos and if you're not happy, you can edit them with the assistance of AI using Google Photos.

You don't just have to buy the Pixel 9 Pro on contract, you can buy the handset SIM-free too - and then take advantage of some great discounted SIM-only deals that are out there.

Fortunately, the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro are down to their lowest price ever, with Amazon knocking £250 off the price of the Pixel 9 and a huge £320 off the Pixel 9 Pro. These prices are the lowest that Google has sold these phones for, with those Prime Day prices continuing.

There's no telling how long these deals will last for, with Amazon labelling them as "limited", but Google is running its own sale online which ends on 5 August, while GiffGaff says that its deals run until 10 August.

Why might this sale be happening? Because Google is preparing to launch the Pixel 10 family of phones on 20 August according to the Daily Express. A downside being, that the Pixel 9 device will be considered 'outdated in a few weeks time'.

However, according to the leaks, it's not expected that there will be huge changes. The design is expected to stay the same as the Google Pixel 9, as are the cameras on the Pixel 10 Pro, while the entry-level Pixel 10 is expected to get an additional zoom camera.

Apart from that, they will move to the Tensor G5 hardware, but otherwise expected to have the same display and battery.

Unless you really need the latest phone, getting yourself a discounted Pixel 9 Pro could save you money and get you a great phone at the same time.
