Bizarre moment Kira Cousins seen celebrating fake baby's gender reveal with 'dad'
Freinds of Kira Cousins, 22, said she went to to extreme lengths to allegedly fake a pregnancy - including wearing a prosthetic bump, hosting a gender reveal and using a doll to convince loved-ones she'd given birth
A bizzare video has emerged showing Kira Cousins celebrating a gender reveal for a baby that allegedly doesn't exist - complete with confetti, hugs and staged excitement.
The clip, shared by one of Kira's friends, opens with the moment the confetti canon bursts, showering pink onto the floor, while Kira, beaming, hugs her partner as if overjoyed by the news. It later emerged that the event was one of many alleged stunts that the 22-year-old was accused of pulling to convince her partner, family and friends that she was pregnant.
Friends said Kira, from Airdrie, Scotland, reportedly went as far as wearing a prosthetic bump and using a realistic reborn doll to deceive others into thinking she'd welcomed a baby girl, who she named Bonnie-Leigh.
In a TikTok montage that has been viewed more than three million times, Kira's pal Naeve McRobert accuses Kira of staging the reveal. McRobert shares a series of photos and clips, telling viewers Kira wore a fake baby bump to a wedding, posted pictures of tiny clothes and showed off a £1,000 pram her family bought her in preparation for the baby's arrival. She also told loved-ones that her unborn baby had heart problems.
The story takes an even stranger turn with a video reportedly filmed by Kira, which shows the "fetus" kicking inside her stomach.
Kira allegedly announced the supposed birth of her daughter in a social media post in October. But she was later accused of lying when her mum allegedly found the "baby" alone in her bedroom and realised it wasn't moving, crying or behaving like an infant. It turned out to be a reborn doll - handmade art dolls created to resemble a human infant as much as possible.
According to reports on social media, Kira's boyfriend was under the impression he was going to be a father, but Kira did not allow him to attend "doctors visits" with her. She also reportedly told loved-ones that her boyfriend and his family were not happy about her "pregnancy," believing the couple had not been together long enough to raise a baby.
Months after the "birth" of Bonnie-Leigh, Kira reportedly told the man she claimed was Bonnie-Leigh's dad that their baby had died. In a message, allegedly sent to her partner, Kira says: "Something happened to Bonne Leigh but I need someone here with me to explain things..." A second message reads: "Bonnie Leigh died but u need to give me time to tell you everything etc and I will I promise."
McRobert said she noticed Kira had deleted every picture and video of Bonnie-Leigh from their online chats. "I asked her why and she ignored me." the friend said. "I then asked the baby's dad 'Is this a doll?', and he said, 'Yes, it's a doll'. She even went to the extreme of texting him saying, 'Bonnie-Leigh died'.
"I can't imagine how he must feel right now and everyone else who has been lied to for months and months. Everybody believed her." McRobert added.
In a statement posted to TikTok after the case sparked widespread outrage, Kira admitted her mum "found it to be a doll". She said: "In my own words let's set this straight. I was in bed when my mother came into my room and found it to be a doll. The next thing I know, I was confronted by all the family… Neither did Jamie's [family]."
She added: "Don't for one minute think they let me get away with this. THEY HAVEN'T."
