Holidaymakers queue for three hours at airport as just THREE workers check tickets

Londoners arriving at Stansted Airport train station have been forced to queue for three and a half hours on Thursday after just three members of staff were assigned to checking train tickets.

Airports and train stations have struggled to manage the influx of incoming passengers during the bank holiday, MyLondon reports.
One person took to social media to speak about the situation, saying: “3.5 hours early for my flight to Sweden, and this is why.
"At Stansted Airport train station, train tickets are being inspected upon arrival. There’s three members of staff checking tickets for all of these people…”
In another update, the passenger said: “I’m inside the terminal and the queue for security is moving VERY quickly. Stansted hasn’t been bombarded with airport chaos as of late, and so far, so good.”
Yet other tweets indicated queues could be seen at the airport from as early as 3.30am today.
However, other tweets suggested queues could be seen at the airport from as early as 3.30 am today prompting one person to urge holiday-goers to arrive at Stansted as soon as possible.
They said: "3.30 am at Stansted Airport …. It’s already looking busy….and this is just departures. Strongly urge everyone to get to the airport as early as possible!"
A spokesperson for Stansted Airport told MyLondon the airport is expecting 45,000 passengers to depart from the airport today.
However, queues for ticket checks are said to be "flowing quickly."
Stansted is just one of many travel hubs to be subjected to chaos.
Yesterday Eurostar travellers were left queuing for hours at St Pancras International Train Station for the second day in a row.
On Saturday (May 28) London Gatwick Airport was forced to cancel almost 250 flights to manage the demand of flights during the June bank holiday and May half term.
