Donald Trump posts film of himself as king bombing protestors with brown sludge
Donald Trump trolled his critics with an AI-generated video where he could be seen branding himself as "King" and wearing a crown - both of which are bizarre images for an American president
Donald Trump shared an AI-generated video of himself as king bombing protesters with brown sludge.
The clip, uploaded to Truth Social, showed the Republican president pilot a fighter jet with the words "King Trump" emblazoned on the side. In an apparent parody of the 1986 film Top Gun, Trump could be seen piloting the aircraft while wearing a crown.
Moments later, Trump was seen smiling as he flew over a generic US city before dumping brown material - resembling faeces - on to protesters below. The crude image, then cut to New York where more of the brown substance was dumped on the protesters below.
The juvenile video from the leader of the free world sparked responses online. Journalist Taylor Lorenz commented on the substance, saying: "Trump posted an AI generated video of himself dropping faces (sic) on Gen Z influencer @harryjsisson from a plane."
MeidasTouch network cofounder Brett Meiselas said: "Trump posting a video of himself literally s***ing on America is pretty spot on to be honest."
The video was in response to the large "No Kings" protests that gripped cities across the US on Saturday. Protesters at the demonstrations voiced their concerns that Trump, in their view, is amassing power at the expense of other branches of government.
A major complaint of their is immigration forces, named ICE, are detaining people without due process and do not need to show their faces while doing so, making them - seemingly - unaccountable. People in numerous cities, including Chicago, Boston, Atlanta and others, were seen carrying signs with the slogans "nothing is more patriotic than protesting."
Republicans hit out at the demonstrations, branding them "hate America" rallies. It has been the third mass demonstration movement since Trump returned to the White House.
Democrats will hope the moment is a turning point after they received criticism over their apparent lack of action following Trump's return to the White House. Senior Democrats had started taking the fight to Trump by allowing the shutting of the government in a bid to prevent cuts to healthcare.
"What we are seeing from the Democrats is some spine," said Ezra Levin, a co-founder of Indivisible, a key organizing group. "The worst thing the Democrats could do right now is surrender."
