FOOTBALL: WISE WILL MISS TOUGH GUY KEVIN

MILLWALL v BURNLEY

DENNIS WISE has revealed he wanted Kevin Muscat to stay at Millwall.

The Lions' hardman skipper is quitting the New Den after today's game to return to his native Australia for "family reasons".

Millwall player-boss Wise, who fell out with new chairman Jeff Burnige over a lack of cash for new signings, admitted: "I'm very disappointed he's leaving.

"He's one of the personalities in our dressing-room and you need those. Sometimes he steps over the line, but we all do that occasionally - I've done it myself. But we will miss him."

Strikers Danny Dichio and Barry Hayles are injury doubts for the Lions.

Steve Cotterill can't wait for the season to end after claiming that his first campaign as Burnley boss has been a failure.

Burnley can claim a top-half finish with a win but despite beating Aston Villa and Liverpool in the cups this term, he says the season has left him cold.

He revealed: "I've felt lacklustre for the last month because we have had nothing to play for and it's not something that I've been comfortable with. I've had a few promotions as a manager so I don't enjoy having nothing to play for on the final day."
