David Beckham holds FA talks to give England helping hand for 2026 World Cup
The FA have spoken to David Beckham about possibly holding a training camp at Inter Miami as England look to get accustomed to the conditions in America ahead of the World Cup
The FA have been in contact with David Beckham regarding the possibility of holding a warm weather training camp at Inter Miami as England begin their preparations for the World Cup in North America next summer.
Beckham, the co-owner and president of the MLS outfit in Florida, has been sounded out by England chiefs who have been to see the club's facilities in Fort Lauderdale, as first reported by Sky Sports. They've also checked out several other venues after the Three Lions confirmed their spot at the tournament.
Before the tournament begins England want to head out to America to put their players through their paces. Thomas Tuchel and the FA's sport scientists want to spend at least a week - likely longer - so that the players can begin getting used to the extreme heat and humidity.
It is likely to play a major role in the tournament and the England staff want to take measures so that they are prepped. The Club World Cup in the summer was played in the USA and managers and players both aired concerns with the climate.
FA officials have looked to visit a number of locations across the USA, reviewing a number of facilities so they can be prepped come the draw, which is in Houston on December 5. Once England know their group and opponents the FA can devise a plan.

The vast stretch of host cities will also mean that teams could play in completely different environments. Seattle and Vancouver are both possibilities, as are Mexico City and Guadalajara.
The perfect training base can be a huge determining factor in creating the right environment during the tournament, which will last four weeks. England have a strong recent record in major tournaments as of late, but will head to one without Gareth Southgate in charge for the first time since 2016.
Tuchel's side booked their ticket to North America with a comfortable 5-0 win in Latvia during the week. It means England have yet to concede in their qualifying campaign with the team building nicely, albeit the German is regularly being asked on his selection with some big names missing this time.
The England boss said in the week: “Brilliant, such a good mood in the dressing room. It feels very different because it's our dream to go to [North] America and now we've made it, another good performance and a top result. We now have six wins and six clean sheets so we're very happy. We're dominant in games."
