Man Utd team news and injury latest – Casemiro suspension, Amad absence vs Brentford

Manchester United travel to Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday and here is the latest injury news and suspension update for the Red Devils ahead of the clash

Manchester United are set to face Brentford in a bid for back-to-back victories, with Bryan Mbeumo potentially making a return to his former club. The Cameroon international made the switch to Old Trafford from the capital after Ruben Amorim's side had three bids turned down.

However, they'll be missing some key players for the early kick-off against the Bees, with Casemiro out of action due to suspension following his red card in the first half of Saturday's 2-1 victory over Chelsea.

Consecutive wins would mark the first time the 40 year old has achieved back-to-back successes since March when United triumphed over Real Sociedad in the Europa League, followed by a comfortable win over Leicester City.

Yet, Amorim is still waiting for a consistent winning streak during his challenging start as manager at Old Trafford. Last weekend's win was his 19th since taking over from Erik ten Hag 10 months ago.

Keith Andrews will be hoping for a return to form as he seeks his second Premier League win of the season. Brentford are just one point clear of the relegation zone after the first five matches and haven't tasted victory since their second game of the season, when they narrowly beat Aston Villa.

Since then, their only success has been in the Carabao Cup, with the last four games resulting in two losses and two draws. Here's the latest injury and suspension news for United ahead of the 12:30pm kick-off.

Lisandro Martinez

Injury: Knee.

The Man United gaffer has confirmed that the Argentine centre-back will miss this weekend's trip to the capital. Martinez is still on the mend from a knee injury that necessitated surgery in February.

He has since rejoined first-team training, but no return date has been set.

Return date: N/A.

Casemiro

Reason: Suspension.

Casemiro will serve his one-match ban after receiving a second yellow card against Chelsea.

Despite appearing to win the ball in a challenge with Andrey Santos, the Brazilian was shown the red card.

He is expected to be back in contention for Sunderland's visit on 4 October.

Return date: Sunderland - October 4.

Amad

Reason: Personal leave.

Amad won't be donning the United jersey this weekend as he's been granted leave to return home following a family bereavement.

Amorim stated: "Amad is not here because someone in his family passed away so we are giving all our support and we understood it was important for him to have his time to return home."

Return date: Unknown.

Noussair Mazraoui

Injury: N/A.

Noussair Mazraoui emerged as a new injury worry during Friday's press conference, with Amorim confirming he'll miss the next two matches.

"Nous is not going to be here until we stop for the international teams. He is out also," he said.

The hope is that he'll be back in action for the trip to Anfield to face Liverpool.

Potential return date: Liverpool - 19 October.

Diogo Dalot

Diogo Dalot will be available for Saturday's trip to Brentford, the United boss has confirmed.

The 29 year old has been sidelined for the previous two Premier League fixtures due to a muscle problem but could make his comeback this weekend.

"Diogo is returning to the team," the Portuguese said. "And he is ready.

"We have all the other players so we are in a good moment to go to Brentford."
