Michail Antonio trains with new Premier League club as he rebuilds career after horror crash
Michail Antonio is still being put through his pace with the striker now training at Brentford after his deal with West Ham came to an end as he eyes his next club
Michail Antonio is training once again, but with Brentford, as the ex-West Ham star makes a return to football following a car crash that almost killed him.
The Jamaica international was driving through Epping Forest last December when he lost control of his Ferrari and crashed into a tree. He had to be cut loose by emergency services after being trapped in the wreckage for more than 45 minutes.
Antonio was taken hospital and found out that his leg was badly broken - with his femur shattering in four places. He underwent an impressive rehab and was training again just four months after the crash.
His time at the Hammers was ended when the two parties failed to agree on terms over an extension, but Antonio is still rubbing shoulders with top flight players as he goes through his paces at Brentford. The striker is understood to live near the Bees' training base in west London, reports the Daily Mail.
It is understood that Brentford are not expected to offer Antonio a contract despite him training with Keith Andrews' side. They did lose several of their main frontmen in the summer - the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa - but they aren't looking to land the free agent.

Antonio had featured for West Ham's Under-21s in a match in August and despite the Hammers calling time on their spell together they said they would continue to offer Antonio "access to training, facilities and medical care if needed". He left as West Ham's record Premier League goalscorer.
Antonio previously maintained that he can still do a job as he said: "I've got something to prove to show that I can come back, I can come back and play well, which I was doing for the last 10 years. Even before I did the car crash, I was starting for West Ham, so it shows I've still got that ability about me and I can do it again."
Jamaica boss Steve McClaren is hopeful that Antonio will be able to secure a deal in the near future, but admitted the forward had been dealt an injury setback which would rule him out of their latest squad.
"Michail Antonio has been training with Brentford, doing very well," he said. "Unfortunately he has pulled a calf and will be two of three weeks out. He is still training with Brentford so hopefully something will work out with that."
