Tommy Fleetwood names his 2026 trophy target after latest triumph in India
The Ryder Cup top scorer has won the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour in the last three months - but now wants a Major
Tommy Fleetwood is targeting Major success next year - starting with the Augusta Green Jacket - after his third big celebration of the season in India.
The world No.5 followed his $10m win at the FedEx Cup in August by leading Europe to Ryder Cup victory on Long Island as the top scorer last month.
And his son Frankie, eight, was in Delhi on Sunday to see his two-shot win two-shot victory at the DP World India Championship - his first European Tour triumph of the year. He is in the form of his life.
The nearly man of world golf - who took 164 attempts to win on the PGA Tour - has become a serial winner in the last three months. Now the Everton fan, already among the most popular players on the planet, wants to take the next step in his upwardly mobile career by winning a Major title in 2026.

I imagine those things all the time, it's just about making it a reality.
“It (winning Majors) is definitely something in my mind and I'll have written down. I feel like majors are absolutely career-defining tournaments, and I always try to feel like all the hard work I put in, I try to make sure I feel like I have a Major winning game if you like going into those.
“This year was actually, as good as the season has been, it was a poor major year for me. I didn't come close to being in contention or competing in those majors. That's something I'll look back on and be slightly disappointed in, but also take away the lessons and look at what I could do better going into next year.
"There's four of them a year. They come fast and sometimes it just doesn't happen for you. Yeah, I'll be looking towards those next year and try to give myself the best chance I can.”
Fleetwood, who finished runner-up at the 2018 US Open and the 2019 Open, did not finish in the top 15 in 2025 and missed the cut at Oakmont in June.
The Dubai-based star had become frustrated by his long winless stretch - and a series of near misses - before his East Lake win led to praise from Tiger Woods and Kobe Bryant.
“I feel like for all the good that’s happened this year, a couple of things have disappointed me and my run on the DP World Tour was one of those things,” he said. “ "This means a lot, this win. It means I can carry on and I can play Abu Dhabi and Dubai and there's still opportunities left.”
He will ride his wave of form and confidence into the final two playoffs events where he was already qualified to play because of his Ryder Cup status.
The Delhi win lifts Fleetwood up from No. 94 to No. 25 in the Race to Dubai with Rory McIlroy leading from Marco Penge and Tyrrell Hatton.
