Where the cast of Mona the Vampire are today as show nears major milestone
The very first episode aired 26 years ago
Mona the Vampire was a staple in every millennial's after-school watch schedule, first hitting TV screens back in 1999 and spanning four seasons.
The Canadian show, which was beamed into childhood living rooms via CBBC, followed the imaginative Mona Parker who believed monsters plagued her hometown.
She would transform into her alter ego Mona the Vampire to save her town from the creatures, joined by her cat and close pals Lily Duncan and Charley Bones. When it came to monster-hunting, her friends also had their own alter-egos of Princess Giant and Zapman respectively.
The beloved horror series may have ended many moons ago (the final episode was released in 2006), but its fanbase, who are now all grown-up, still have fond memories of the show and discuss it on nostalgic TV forums.
One former viewer took to Reddit to share: "I was raised in Mexico and I used to watch this in Spanish. Now my daughter watches it on YouTube and it's the only 'old' cartoon of mine that she likes. She hates Looney Tunes and Rugrats but will watch this."
Meanwhile a second shared: "I used to watch this in Cuba in the 2000s. Amazing memories. Will rewatch as a 26-year-old," as a third penned: "Everyday was Halloween when Mona the Vampire was on."
Given it has been almost 20 years since Mona the Vampire's grand finale and nearly 30 since it first aired, fans may be wondering what became of the voice cast that brought the loveable characters to life.
Mona Parker (Mona the Vampire)
Canadian actress Emma Taylor-Isherwood voiced the lead character Mona Parker. Now aged 38, she appears to have scaled back on voice acting work in recent years.
Her most recent acting credit was as the voice of Angel in animated children's comedy series Kuu Kuu Harajuku which ran until 2019.
Mona the Vampire fans may not realise that Emma was also the voice of Little Red Riding Hood in Shrek, and voiced an unnamed child in Toy Story.
Lily Duncan (Princess Giant)
Voicing Lily Duncan and her alter-ego Princess Giant was one of Canadian native Carrie Finlay's first professional acting roles.
Around the same time she was involved in Mona the Vampire, she was also voicing the character of Binky's younger sister, Mei-Lin Barnes, in another enduring millennial favourite: Arthur.
The 39-year-old has since retired from voice acting and now works in the legal field. Her LinkedIn profile currently states that she's the legal director at a London law firm working the film and television beat.
Charley Bones (Zapman)
While Justin Bradley was the voice behind Charley Bones and Zapman, he was also behind another legendary children's character.
The 40-year-old, also from Canada, voiced lead character Arthur Read in Season 6 of the animated series Arthur, taking over from Michael Yarmush.
He has also ventured in front of the camera, with a recurring role in noughties drama series Naturally, Sadie. He also appeared as a student in 2011's Beastly alongside Vanessa Hudgens.
