Down Cemetery Road release date and cast as series from Slow Horses author hailed 'promising'

Down Cemetery Road is a new drama series coming to AppleTV+ and it stars Ruth Wilson and Emma Thompson

Down Cemetery Road is set to hit AppleTV+, taking place in the aftermath of an explosion in a leafy Oxford suburb where Sarah Tucker resides.


Following the blast, a young girl goes missing, prompting Sarah to hire a detective to unravel the mystery.


Down Cemetery Road was Mick Herron's debut novel, first published in 2003.


The narrative follows Sarah as she becomes obsessed with finding the missing girl, enlisting the help of Oxford private investigator Zoë Boehm.

However, their search unearths more secrets than answers, ensnaring them both in a web of conspiracy, and fans have already expressed their excitement.

When is Down Cemetery Road out?

The series will premiere with a double-bill on Wednesday, October 29.

Subsequent episodes will be released weekly, culminating in the finale on December 10.

Who is in the cast of Down Cemetery Road?

Ruth Wilson and Emma Thompson headline the cast as Sarah Tucker and investigator Zoë Boehm.


Wilson, aged 43, is an English actress recognised for her roles in Luther and Mrs Wilson.

Thompson, aged 66, is an acclaimed English actress and screenwriter, known for her roles in blockbuster franchises such as Harry Potter and Nanny McPhee.
