Eamonn Holmes rages 'nobody cares' about his 'special needs' in new GB News outburst
Eamonn Holmes has raged that 'nobody cares' about his 'special needs' in a new outburst on GB News, as he opened up about his frustrations with customer service
Eamonn Holmes has admitted that other people's attitude to his health struggles have begun to irk him, lashing out that 'nobody cares' about his 'special needs' during a GB News rant.
The 65-year-old broadcaster has faced numerous health challenges in recent years, including back surgery in 2022 which left him dependent on a walking frame or wheelchair.
This morning, the former This Morning broadcaster expressed his annoyance with the decline in customer service within businesses while discussing the widespread internet outage caused by Amazon Web Services.
Eamonn, who split from wife Ruth Langsford last year, shared his disappointment with GB News viewers over the lack of human interaction when contacting companies.
He told viewers: "Do you know what's so annoying? I spent the weekend, and I mean the weekend, on various phone lines, and the minimum wait was 40 minutes, 38 minutes, to be answered by a human being.
"Take Apple, for instance, they will do everything to avoid you speaking to a human being. Instead, they keep you [on hold] until you want to end your life. '.
It was at this point that the presenter opened up about the difficulties he encounters due to his disability when booking hotel rooms. An exasperated Eamonn stated: "Do you know what?
"You can't even phone a hotel anymore. You've got to go to a website, but I don't want to go to a website. I want to talk to people and explain I've got special needs.
"I need a bathroom with bars so I can hold and stand up in the shower with or whatever, but you just cannot speak to anybody. But nobody cares."
Eamonn has always been forthcoming about his health battles. Earlier this month, he revealed needed hospital treatment for a nasty eye injury.
Despite the severity of his injury, Eamonn was keen to make light of the situation. He quipped "you should see the other guy" as he posted pictures of his heavily bandaged eye.
In his post, Eamonn shared two photos showing different eye patches. He wrote: "One of these eye patches was put on in hospital and the other one by me . See if u can guess which ? Ps U should see the other guy ! ! !".
The first photo showed a neatly applied patch, while the second revealed Eamonn's own attempt at applying the patch, using an excessive amount of tape to keep it in place.
This latest health scare comes as Eamonn continues to battle ongoing health issues that have impacted his mobility. In May, there were concerns for the star when he fell off his chair live on air.
Just weeks before this incident, he had been rushed to hospital after falling at home and needing to call an ambulance. Eamonn has been working tirelessly on his recovery following spinal surgery in 2022. The operation was necessary due to chronic back pain caused by three slipped discs.
He revealed the condition had previously pressed against his sciatic nerve and hampered movement in his right leg. Throughout the past year, the seasoned television personality has been spotted relying on walking aids and a wheelchair owing to his limited mobility.
