EastEnders fans 'work out' who Okie's dad is as he opens up – and it's 'someone we know'

EastEnders fans heard Okie open up about his family for the first time today, with fans now believing they know who his father is – and it's someone the BBC soap's fans already know

Tonight, EastEnders viewers heard Okie open up about his past for the first time as he keeps Harry hostage, despite orders from Ravi to let him go.

The power seems to have gotten to Okie's head in Ravi's absence – with the villain enjoying taunting Harry. So much so, that he's formed a relationship with Harry's girlfriend Gina. Today, we saw them on their second date to the Vic, in which Okie opened up about his family for the first time.

Upon listening to the character's back story, fans believe they've 'worked out' who his father is – and they think it's someone we're familiar with.

On their date, Okie was reluctant to open up to Gina at first, but when she told him she'd had enough of the "silent moody type," he decided to delve deep.

"I didn't really know my pops until I was nine. Mum said he was never any good but when I did meet him, that guy demanded respect. He showed me off to everyone. Spoiled me as well – bought me trainers, clothes. He died when I was 14," he said.

"Word on road is, he got stabbed with his own knife in some petty scuffle. After that Mum just snapped. Gone missing for days on end. Left me and my brother to take care of our little sister, Dejia, by ourselves. No love. No help."

Upon hearing the story, fans thinking they've worked out who his dad is...

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: "Farfetched, but I think okie is Vincent's son," as another responded: "Ohhhhh..."

"Don't say it... Is Vincent Okie's dad??" said a third, as another said: "Ohh this just sparked off a right little rabbit hole of pondering for me. Vincent was involved in drug dealing and money laundering, and often went AWOL - so it wouldn't be impossible for the writers to recton Okie as his son. They've certainty done far less plausible things." [sic] "Yesss it lines up!" exclaimed another.

Vincent, played by Richard Blackwood, was killed off screen seven years ago. His death and exit were a mystery back in 2018, when his drama with villain Aidan Maguire reached a dark turn. After he turned informant and told the police everything he knew about the gangster, the plan was to head into witness protection but his wife Kim refused.

As Vincent tried to tell the officers waiting for him he was staying, it was revealed they were corrupt and working for Aidan and they drove off with Vincent in the car. A gun was pointed at him, and we never saw what happened next but it was implied he'd been killed.

Earlier this year, Tameka Empson, who plays Kim Fox, teased a return for her ex, after leaving the show in 2018.

She teased to The Mirror that fans should "watch this space" when asked about his return chances. Asked about Vincent and whether he might return, she told us: "Well where is he? And if he turns up he's got to turn up with something in his hands, cos it's been a long while now.
