Emmerdale preview teases Robert's predicament over Aaron and Kev ahead of bombshell

Emmerdale's Robert Sugden gets rumbled next week, while a teaser for the episodes shows him telling both Aaron Dingle and his secret husband Kev they have 'nothing to worry about'

Robert Sugden's secret shenanigans catch up with him next week on Emmerdale, with his double life of sorts exposed.

Ahead of a huge standalone episode for Ryan Hawley's character that will finally delve into his six years in prison, next week sees Robert trying to keep his partner Aaron Dingle and his secret husband Kev apart. It's made harder when Kev heads to the village, and he and Aaron bump into each other.

A new preview has revealed the moment Aaron is introduced to Kev who is dubbed as "Robert's friend", with Kev quipping he knows all about Aaron. So what has Robert told him?

It looked a little frosty, while scenes also show Kev seeming unnerved about something. He begs Robert not to give up on him in the clip, and Robert seems a bit emotional.

There's another bit where Kev asks if he has anything to worry about, to which Robert appears to say no. That said, he seems to have a heart-to-heart with an oblivious Aaron too, telling him he loves him.

At some point in the week we see the pair kiss, with Aaron also declaring he's excited to tell everyone about their rekindled relationship. It's certainly set to be a big week for the trio, which culminates in Robert's secrets coming to light.

Aaron will spot Kev and Robert kissing, but will Robert tell both Aaron and Kev the full truth? Spoilers had revealed that Robert vows to finally end things with Kev next week, while in the meantime he introduces Kev to Charles and Claudette Anderson, his new hosts.

Things take a turn though when Kev and Aaron encounter each other, and Robert realises living separate lives is not going to work out, further prompting him to end the marriage. After all, Robert has downplayed his past with Kev to Aaron and he's left guilty when Aaron joyfully announces their renewed relationship to everyone in the Woolpack.

Aaron knows something is amiss with Robert though, while Kev is also concerned something is not right. It all reaches an awkward point though when Kev gifts Robert an expensive watch and gives him a kiss.

Aaron is watching the entire exchange though, stunned by what he sees as Robert reels from his secret being exposed. Later this year a standalone episode will reveal what happened with the character in the six years he was imprisoned for, after hints at what he went through.
