Gogglebox fans all say same thing as two cast members 'missing' from Channel 4 show
Channel 4 viewers were left baffled as they tuned into the latest episode of Gogglebox as fan favourites Amira and Amani Rota were noticeably missing from the line-up
Gogglebox viewers were left worried during the most recent episode of the Channel 4 programme as two beloved stars were conspicuously absent.
Sisters Amira and Amani Rota were nowhere to be seen during Friday's (September 26) instalment, and their absence certainly didn't escape viewers' attention.
Amira made her debut on the programme in 2017, with her sister Amani stepping in the subsequent year in 2018.
Originally, Amira was paired with her mate Iqra before Amani stepped into the role.
Fans tuning in from home quickly took to their keyboards to highlight that the siblings were "absent" from the show, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Posting on X, previously Twitter, one viewer wrote: "Missing Amira and Amani this week! #Gogglebox."
Another social media user responded: "Yeah I was wondering where they were....literally like."
A third individual commented: "Where's Amira and Amani this week? #Gogglebox."
Amira is the youngest of the pair, being two years Amani's junior.
Career-wise, Amira is employed as a retail manager at Smyth's Toys whilst Amani works in customer service.
The duo are recognised for residing at their family home in London and having three additional siblings who remain away from the limelight and have never appeared on Gogglebox.
Amira previously revealed how she was contacted by the casting crew for Gogglebox on her inaugural day at university.
Chatting to Heat World, Amira confessed that it proved challenging to convince Amani to participate in the programme when Iqra chose to depart.
She revealed at the time: "My personality is not very out there. I didn't have the confidence to do it to begin with, but then I got out of my comfort zone and said yes."
Amira quipped that having their dad on the programme would be brilliant as he would be "hilarious", but she confessed: "He wouldn't be up for it, because he's a shy guy, but some of the comments he makes, I'm like, 'They would love you'."
Fresh faces have joined Gogglebox for the current series including mates from Glasgow, a household from Surrey, and a pair from the Cotswolds. They'll be accompanied by siblings from Edinburgh and a mother and daughter-in-law partnership from Yorkshire.
This follows Scottish duo Joe Kyle and Roisin Kelly taking to Instagram to tell supporters they'd been "brutally axed" from the show.
Gogglebox airs Fridays on Channel 4 at 9pm
