Inside Hollyoaks Diane Hutchinson star's life including co-star daughter
Alex Fletcher is best known for playing Jacqui Dixon in Brookside and Diane Hutchinson in Hollyoaks, but away from the screen she has a very famous husband and actress daughter
Alex Fletcher, who first graced our screens in Brookside 35 years ago, has had a successful career in soap operas.
She made her debut as Jacqui Dixon in 1990 and continued to play the iconic character until the Channel 4 soap ended in 2003.
Her acting journey then took her to Murder Investigation Team, Surburban Mayhem and Doctors before she landed the role of Diane Hutchinson in Hollyoaks in 2010.
Over the past 15 years, Alex has been at the heart of some gripping storylines as fan favourite Diane, from battling alcoholism to grappling with her teenager Ro Hutchinson's desire to transition.
Away from the fictional village, the soap legend is married to actor Neil Davies, who previously appeared in Brookside as Robbie Moffatt, an on-screen boyfriend of her character Jacqui, reports the Liverpool Echo.
The couple tied the knot in 2003 and are proud parents to a son and daughter. Their daughter has recently joined the cast of Hollyoaks as part of spin-off show Hollyoaks Later and the Brookside crossover episode.
Their daughter Yasmin's character Esme Dixon, who resides in Brookside Close, is the daughter of Jacqui and heads to a Liverpool nightclub where she gets up to some fun with a few Chester teenagers.
Yasmin is also currently filming season 3 of BAFTA nominated G'wed and recently finished working on a two-part story in Silent Witness with Emilia Fox.
She played Suranne Jones' daughter in Maryland and her other credits include The Gathering and The Tower.
Despite her love for acting, Alex has previously voiced her interest in joining I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! having backed her on-screen spouse Nick Pickard, who portrays Tony Hutchinson in Hollyoaks, during his 2023 appearance on the show.
"It's one of my favourite shows," Alex confessed. "I am at an age where I don't really care what people think about me anymore.
"I'd have a good go. I'd be scared of the water – the water things would freak me out. But I could eat the stuff and I'd be good in a team."
Hollyoaks airs Monday to Wednesday on E4 at 7pm and first look episodes can be streamed Channel 4 from 7am
