Netflix Knives Out 2025 cast revealed with huge names
Wake Up Dead Man is the third movie in the Knives Out murder mystery series, starring Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc
Netflix have announced the release date of the latest Knives Out mystery. The upcoming film, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, stars Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc, alongside Josh O'Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott and more.
The latest movie brings Benoit to a small hamlet in upstate New York where young priest Jud Duplenticy (Josh O’Connor) is sent to help local priest, Monsignor Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin). After an awful murder shocks the town, local police chief Geraldine Scott (Mila) joins forces with Benoit to solve the mystery.
The fan-favourite franchise is released in select cinemas in the UK and Ireland on November 28 and launches globally on Netflix on December 12. Wake Up Dead Man is directed by Rian Johnson and written by iconic director, Guillermo del Toro.
Daniel spoke of the director's approach to the genre and said: "What Rian’s movies do best is subvert the genre.
"You start off thinking you’re watching an old-fashioned sort of Agatha Christie-type mystery — but then it shifts, and you realize you’re watching something entirely different.”
Jeremy Renner previously appeared in the franchise as the mascot for a hot sauce brand in Glass Onion, but his character in Wake Up Dead Man is entirely unrelated.
Earlier this year, Rian discussed the murder mystery to Digital Spy, revealing: "I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. T
"There's a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies."
He also confirmed that Jeremt would have a "proper part" in the film, with no hot sauce involved. "Jeremy's a great actor who I've wanted to work with for a long time," he said.
"I was very relieved he thought the hot sauce thing was funny! He's playing a proper part in this one, we'll keep the sauce off-screen. Maybe we'll sneak a few bottles onto the catering table."
The original Knives Out film hit the screens in 2019, followed by Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery in 2022.
The film will be in select theatres Nov. 26, and will debut on Netflix on Dec. 12
