Netflix releasing 'masterpiece' Marvel movie that nearly left fans in 'tears'

Netflix is releasing a huge Marvel movie this weekend

Netflix is set to drop a must-see Marvel flick this weekend, perfect for family viewing and chock-full of Easter eggs. The 2023 blockbuster was one of the year's biggest hits, raking in over $690 million (around £548 million) at the global box office, reports Surrey Live.

Critics and audiences alike adored the film, earning it a 95 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 94 percent score on the Popcornmeter. One smitten fan posted on the Rotten Tomatoes site: "even better than the first one imo which i did not think was possible [sic]."

Another awarded the movie five stars, remarking: "This film is a visual concert. The animation and character design neatly put me to tears.

"The opening of the film took an approach that shocked me, but it was fantastic to watch. Many of the jokes were in the trailers, but plenty caught me off guard in the cinema [sic]."

A third chimed in: "Not much I can say except this film is a masterpiece just like the first one. Only with even better animation, which I didn't know was even possible. Must watch for anyone who hasn't already. There's something here for everyone to enjoy."

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be landing today (March 8) on Netflix, promising a visual feast as the multi-verse comes into play and various animation styles combine to create a truly immersive experience.

The animated sequel to 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is set to dazzle with its stunning visuals. The film features Miles Morales, voiced by Shameik Moore, battling against scientist-turned-villain The Spot, played by Jason Schwartzman, who uses portals to wreak havoc across multiple universes.

Fans can expect a multitude of Spider-Man versions and his allies as they strive to stop The Spot from annihilating the Spider-Verse. Despite most Marvel content migrating to Disney+ following the acquisition of licences in 2022, some Marvel offerings still pop up on Netflix.

Former Netflix-Marvel shows like Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and The Inhumans have all moved to Disney+. However, for now, Marvel enthusiasts can relish Spider-Man: Across the Spider on Netflix.
