Netflix streaming devastating film with ‘one of the best performances’ ever that should have won an Oscar
Many film fans were calling for the lead actress to finally pick up an Academy Award for her performance

Netflix has just dropped one of last year's most acclaimed films, complete with a breathtaking lead performance that's got everyone talking.
UK and US audiences can now stream the heart-wrenching true story drama from today (Tuesday, 18th March).
The film has been met with thunderous applause from fans and critics alike, with many arguing that the star actress was snubbed by not receiving an Oscar nod.
We're talking about The Outrun, a poignant tale of battling addiction, inspired by Amy Liptrot's powerful memoir.
Saoirse Ronan, the Oscar-nominated talent from Little Women, delivers a compelling portrayal of Rona, who returns to her roots in the Orkney Islands, Scotland, after rehab, reports the Mirror US.
Amidst the remote community, she seeks a fresh start but faces challenges connecting with her mentally ill father Andrew (played by Stephen Dillane) and devout mother Annie (Saskia Reeves).
The film has become a cult hit, with a chorus of fans online expressing their dismay at the Oscars' oversight regarding Ronan's performance.
One fan expressed their anticipation for this year's awards, saying: "We were expecting an enjoyable film as anything Saoirse appears in never disappoints. This film, The Outrun, is amazing.
"Saoirse is at her very best. The photography was excellent and the direction first class. If Saoirse doesn't get an Oscar for this one I will be very surprised.
"Great to see a film where all the planets align. Go and see it, you won't be disappointed."
Another fan raved: "An outstanding performance by Saoirse Ronan, her best yet in my view, courageous in tackling a very difficult issue.
"Challenging at times and not a film to cheer one up until the final scene but worthy of an Oscar nomination if not the award itself."
A fellow fan agreed, saying: "One of the best, most breathtaking performances I have ever seen. Saoirse Ronan is brilliant, a true master of her craft.
"This movie had me completely enthralled, and left me feeling every emotion in the book."
The Outrun also garnered glowing reviews on the film social media platform Letterboxd.
A five-star review read: "A quiet and very beautiful movie, filled with raw emotion.
"Saoirse Ronan's performance is one to be remembered and hopefully awarded. Rooting for her, as always."
And in a tongue-in-cheek remark, another fan joked: "Saoirse Ronan I will get you that Oscar even if I have to pull a Kanye West and storm the stage at the oscar's 2025 to interrupt the best actress speech and give it to you."
If you've enjoyed Ronan's performances in hit films like Lady Bird, Brooklyn, and The Grand Budapest Hotel, be sure to catch what fans believe might be her most impressive performance yet.
The Outrun is available to stream on Netflix.
