Strictly Come Dancing star issues statement as they're booted off BBC show

Ross King and his professional partner Jowita Przystal found themselves in the dance-off against Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon

Ross King and Balvinder Sopal found themselves in the dreaded Strictly Come Dancing dance-off after Movie Week.

The Lorraine showbiz correspondent took to the dance floor once again with pro partner Jowita Przystal to perform their Thunderbirds routine.

Balvinder and Julian Caillon meanwhile performed their Foxtrot in the hope of impressing the judges.

The judges unanimously chose to save Balvinder meaning Ross was the second celebrity sent packing.

Not long after the results show was broadcast, Ross took to Instagram to break his silence on the decision, reports Wales Online.

Alongside photos from his time on the series with his fellow celebrities, Ross penned: "There aren't enough words to express my gratitude for this amazing opportunity.

"Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with me - the Strictly cast and crew, friends, family, my wonderful dance partner Jowita, and most importantly, to the fans.

"You kept me inspired with your kind words and kept me in the competition with your votes. I hope like me, you've been inspired to try something new and as always, keep dancing!".

Tess Daly responded: "Adored by the entire team you will be SO MISSED Ross."

Meanwhile, Chris Robshaw replied: "Ross you are an amazing man and you shall be missed. I loved our Calcutta Cup battles on the dance floor and dressing gown coffees."

When asked on the results show by host Tess about his time on the show, Ross became tearful as he paid tribute to Jowita. "I have loved every single minute of it," he expressed to viewers.

"I would like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us, all the people who voted – they've been amazing.

"I want to thank everyone here in this room, backstage, the judges, the crew – every single person here has made me so, so welcome.

"And, I want to thank a very special lady who has been with me through it all and has been absolutely everything: she's been a mentor, teacher, carer and I could not have wished for a better partner, and I could not have wished to be on a better show. Thank you judges for all your remarks."

Meanwhile, Jowita added: "Thank you so much for all of your work. For everything you have done during rehearsals.

"We laugh a lot – but we also cried! Thank you so much, and I hope I'm going to be a little part in your life forever."
