Strictly Come Dancing's Nikita Kuzmin six-word response to 'curse' rumours
Strictly Come Dancing professional Nikita Kuzmin has been on the BBC One show since 2021 and has been dating model Lauren Jaine for two years
Strictly Come Dancing's Nikita Kuzmin has quashed any rumours of the infamous Strictly curse affecting his relationship, assuring fans that his girlfriend, Lauren Jaine, understands that for him, dancing is purely professional.
The pro dancer, who joined the show in 2021, is no stranger to how quickly gossip can spread among the contestants.
However, as he nears his two-year anniversary with model Lauren, Nikita is adamant that his performances don't encroach on their relationship.
He said: "I think it can be difficult for anyone who isn't a dancer to understand, but she knows it's just a job. We don't really think about it in a romantic way – it's just part of what we do. And if there was ever an issue, we'd talk about it and just sort it out."
Nikita confessed that he has considered the future and possibly tying the knot with Lauren, and it's evident he's head over heels for her as he praised her supportive nature:
He shared: "I'm really lucky to have a supportive family and girlfriend. I always call my mum on my way home, and when I get back, I have Lauren waiting for me. We make time for each other."
In October 2023, Nikita made his relationship with Lauren 'Insta official' by posting a charming collection of photos on Instagram.
It's believed they started dating early in 2023, with Lauren regularly cheering Nikita on during the Strictly live shows and his 2024 appearance on Celebrity Big Brother, reports OK!.
As they went public with their relationship, an insider told The Sun: "Nikita and Lauren have been dating for months and seem to have an amazing connection. The pair have tried to keep their romance under the radar but they have been attending events together and are really enjoying each other's company."
The source continued: "His Strictly co-stars also think they are a great match and are rooting for the pair."
This year Nikita is dancing with Amber Davies after his original celebrity partner Dani Dyer had to withdraw from the competition due to an injury.
