Strictly's Amber Davies seen with pro partner for first time since replacing Dani Dyer
Amber Davies has no time to waste as she is thrown straight into Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals with her pro partner Nikita Kuzmin following Dani Dyer's shock exit
It's only been a matter of hours since it was confirmed that former Love Island star Amber Davies was to replace Dani Dyer on Strictly Come Dancing. But that has not stopped the reality TV star-turned-theatre performer from jumping straight in at the deep end as she posted an photo of herself in rehearsals with professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin.
Amber, 28, was a last minute addition to this year's celebrity line-up of the BBC dance show after it was announced that Dani had quit after fracturing her ankle while practicing a routine. At the time, a host of celebrity names were thrown into the mix including Waterloo Road star Tillie Armatey.
Standing in front of a full length in the rehearsal room, Amber is seen pouting in a selfie as she stood beside Nikita. Dressed casually in a brown fleece jumper teamed with a matching pair of leggings and white socks.
Meanwhile Nikita, sported a baby pink shirt worn over a white t-shirt and a pair of black trousers. She captioned the post saying: "Rehearsals in full swing @nikitakuzmin" She concluded the post: "Thanks for all the love, still in shock."
This is the first time the pair have been seen together since Dani, who is the daughter of actor Danny Dyer, announced that she was forced to pull out of the competition.
At the time, Dani took to social media and told her fans in a brief video: "I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed funny. I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle."
She added: "Apparently doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable (!!) and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance so l've had to pull out of the show.
Dani then went on to say: "To say I'm heartbroken is the biggest understatement. I am so going to miss dancing with Nikita but will of course be watching closely and cheering all the couples on."
Sarah James, Executive Producer for BBC Studios said in a statement: "Dani has brought so much passion, joy and enthusiasm to Strictly, and her partnership with Nikita was off to the most sensational start. "
She added: "Everyone on the show is incredibly sad that she's no longer able to compete in this year's series. We send her all our love and best wishes for a swift recovery, and we very much hope to welcome her back to the ballroom in the future."
