Survival of the Fittest branded 'budget Love Island' by unimpressed viewers

Viewers didn't' really get the point of the show - is it a game show? Do they couple up?!

ITV2's Survival of the Fittest finally graced our screens tonight and despite being billed as the "winter Love Island" - and viewers were decidedly unimpressed with the show.

The main gripes appeared to be the cheesiness, the "plastic" women, the ridiculously cocky men and the fact that the narrator was no Iain Sterling. Oh, and the fact they didn't really get the point of the show.

They weren't even keen on the water bottles.

Viewers flocked to Twitter to hit out at the show - and they definitely didn't hold back.

One tweeted: "ok 5 minutes in I'm so confused as to what this show is, is it love island? is it a game show? why is it boys vs girls? do they couple up? would help if they explained lol #SurvivalOfTheFittest."

While another commented: "I wonder if all these people originally applied for Love Island and then got rejected #SurvivalOfTheFittest."

A third remarked: "I don't wanna put all my eggs in one basket but #SurvivalOfTheFittest is not my type on paper and I miss #loveisland."

"But.....it’s not Love Island is it #SurvivalOfTheFittest," another wrote.

One tweeted: "Dunno why they’ve taken the s*** bits of love island (the challenges) and made it into an entire show #SurvivalOfTheFittest."

Another fuming viewer tweeted: "This is like the pound shop version of love island #SurvivalOfTheFittest."

Oh dear...
